MTH™ Brooklyn PCC StreetCar
http://www.nyctransitforums.com/foru...s/DSC_0014.jpgSet: Brooklyn PCC (President Conference Committee) Streetcar
Producer: MTH-Mikes Train House Road Name: Brooklyn & Queens Transit PCC (St. Louis Car, 1936) Release Date: May / June 2006 Scale: O Gauge-MTH Railking Line Route: # 68 North Terminal: Brooklyn Bridge-Sands Street, Brooklyn South Terminal: Sea Breeze Av-Coney Island, Brooklyn Via: Coney Island Avenue Lets travel back to the days before buses ruled the roads, shall we? When Electric Streetcars transported New Yorkers from one end of Queens to Downtown, Brooklyn. This is MTH's Brooklyn President Conference Committee Streetcar. The model is definitely reenacting the route of the streetcar line within the 1940s/1950s era. The #68 route ran from Sand St-Brooklyn Bridge to Sea Breeze Av-Coney Island. The main stretch of its route ran along Coney Island Av down to Brighton Beach Av, then turning right under the Brighton El, then left onto Brighton 1st Way to the boardwalk, then turned right along the Boardwalk until it hit Coney Island. The Streetcar stops for this model are as follows: Brooklyn Bridge / Sand St - This is the last stop Smith / 9 St - Gowanus Canal or Red Hook Bartel - Pritchard Square Parkside Av - Parade Grounds Ditmas Avenue Avenue U Brighton Beach Avenue Sea Breeze Av-Coney Island There really aren't any Pros or Cons to this piece. A PCC is always welcomed on a layout; whether its running under an elevated train/subway line, or just running up and down the street back and forth in a quiet town. Car: # 1009 This is not MTA, so no logos or anything like that. 4/5 Stars If you can find one, pick one up. It will transport you back in time;) I picked mine up for $189.99 back in May or June of 2006. One can find it now for a price of $209.99 to 239.99 http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/DSC_0014.jpg http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/a...DSC_0017-1.jpg http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/DSC_0019.jpg http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/DSC_0023.jpg Take Care Guys! Very cool, but I like my PCC better.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3.../img_85002.jpg Seriously, it's very cool. Do they come in any other numbers or just 1009? Also, if your layout had trolley wire, would the trolly pole be able to follow it? |
Thanks for posting the very nice review of the PCC Streetcars, I'll check em' out down at TrainLand or TrainWorld, :)!
