New "Doomsday Cut" Maps Are Online

Recommended Posts

With the exception of Manhattan, all the revised bus maps are on the MTA website, and there are many changes.

Some include:

1. Missing, combined, and revised routes.

2. The new pentagon symbol to represent routes not running on Saturday and/or Sunday.

3. In the Queens map, the QM5/6/7/8/25

That's merely a summary. I'm still looking them over. Talk about a complete overhaul of many of the routes! *blinks*

Here they are:

1. http://mta.info/nyct/maps/busbkln.pdf

2. http://mta.info/nyct/maps/busbx.pdf

3. http://mta.info/nyct/maps/busqns.pdf

4. http://mta.info/nyct/maps/bussi.pdf

Sorry to burst the bubble but these are the same old maps. The MTA must of noticed people viewing them based on clicks and removed it. Next time download em and reload~

Maybe they will restore em later. Ill be checking on that

Aw, nuts! And I checked them only a few minutes ago, and the maps were there. Shoot.

Oh, well, guess we'll have to wait a little longer for them to be on.

However, I did download the maps when they were online, and I have them stored in my computer. If anyone of you wants to view them, PM me and give me your e-mail. :P

Well, the Bx39 is recolored to orange, the Bx20 that will be a rush-hour only service is recolored light blue, the Bx14 is gone, the Bx38 is orange, and that's it.
There's more that I'm seeing from the Bronx map alone.

1. The restructured lines in Co-Op City.

2. The BxM7B and Bx25 discontinued.

I'm seeing a LOT of restructuring in the Brooklyn bus map.

1. The B75, 51, 37, 39, 71, and 77 discontinued.

2. Many lines restructured: the B64 and B1 Bay Ridge terminals have flip-flopped, and the B64 terminal is now cut back to Harway Avenue.

3. The X37 and X38 are merged with the X27 and X28.

4. Part-time B8 service to the (R) terminal, now ending at the VA Hospital.

5. The B61 and B77 merging, with the B61 occupying the B75 terminal.

6. The B57 extending to Smith/9 Sts. to compensate the B75.

7. The B4 only going to Knapp Street part-time.

8. The B24, 69, and 2 now run on weekdays only.

9. The B48 cut back to Atlantic Avenue.

10. The B70 running partially on Third Avenue to compensate the B37.

11. The B69 no longer runs on Prospect Park West.

I think I'll find way more here.

Minor Correction. The B8 is actually serving the 95th St/4th (R) stations late evenings/nights only after 10pm when B70 is ending service or not running. This is a compromise from last year (2009) doomsday cuts in which there would be no service at all between 95th and the VA. (when B70 is ending service or not running) to force more on the B70 between the VA Hosp and that station.

All B8's most of the day until around 10pm ends/starts at the VA Hosptial.

Well this is crap! It's nice to know that you guys saw the NEW maps but please keep the findings to a minimum. I would like to see the changes myself as well. Kind of defeats the purpose of looking at a NEW map and read the NEW changes on the maps from OTHER people who viewed it and now "mysteriously" the OLD maps are back in place. Just my thought.

You don't have to read all the comments on the new maps. It's just like a "spoiler alert" when a new book comes out. You can read the comments if you want to, or not.

By the way, does anybody know if the back of the map, with the service hours for the routes came out yet?

Does the B4 show any eastbound service along Avenue Z between Coney Island and Ocean Parkway? Where is the new terminus?

New Terminal for off-peak hours is Coney Island and Avenue Z.

Thanks but I meant to ask if it shows westbound service on Avenue Z not eastbound, between Ocean Parkway and CIA because the westbound signs are in place but the MTA book shows service at all times on the Shore Parkway Service Road.

Apparently for a moment the new bus maps where posted on mta website. Route #'s in Pentagons signify Weekday Only Service. In the Bronx, Co-op City looks very confusing I'm sure residents will have a lot to get used to.

The (MTA) is f*cking with my neighborhood hardcore. It's going to be a huge mess for us here in Co-op City.

What I've been trying to figure out is which bus will be running 24 hrs, the Bx28 or the Bx38? Then once it hits midnight, will that bus running overnight go all over Co-op City or stay in its regular route? I'm kinda scared to find out.
