A and C service in Queens.

I always wondered why the (C) train terminates at Euclid Avenue instead of Lefferts Blvd. It is only 7 stops. This could allow the (A) train more service to the Rockaways. Another idea is going back to 1977 when the (CC) train, now the (C) train ended at Rockaway Park and get rid of the (S) train down there. It is really cool to look at some old subway maps and see where trains used to go. I am reading a 1977 subway guide.

I agree with the (C) going to Lefferts full time 7 days a week. However it's a bad idea to extend the ©or the (E) to/from Rockaway Park as i read on this and other NYC transit websites that ppl have proposed to made. The (E)is already the 2nd busiest subway line in terms of riders using (behind only the (4)) so any delays along the Fulton or Rockaway pensuila and Queens Blvd riders might riot.

Ditto for the ©going to Rock Park. Plus the ridership on Rockaway Park stations other than Beach 98th(public housing project)and Beach 116th is the lowest of any NYC subway coordior line.So the Rock Park (S)is fine at all other times other than rush hours when the Diamond (A)runs.

Having the (C) to end at Leffers is a great idea. It would be perfect to have the C run to Leffers and have select (A) Trains run express in peak direction express skipping Rockaway and 88th Street. And have the (C) run all times but run it from Euclid Avenue to Leffers. With a 4 Car R32.

Flushing please give R160B a 'break' LOL he only 10 years old.

I think for his age R160B seems to be very smart

With that said you right. Extending either (C) or (E)(very bad idea)to Rockaway Park is a terrible idea. Plus the ridership other than weekdays and summer weekends is very light. There a reason the MTA by 1988, no longer had the (C) or the (E) run along the Rockaway Pensuila line.

Personally i love to see the Rock Park (S)extended to either Howard Beach/JFK or even Rockaway Blvd/Cross Bay for increased transfer connections.

Won't extending the (C) have to make the (C), 10 cars?

Anyway, if you extend the (C) to Lefferts Blvd, then you can cut the (S) and run (A) to Rocakaway Pk full time.

The main problem is, that many residents will be infuriated by the fact that there would be no more express service coming out from Lefferts and that they have to take the local in.

How about this?

(A) Inwood - 207 St. - Far Rockaway (Exp) All Times

(A) Inwood - 207 St. - Lefferts Blvd. (Exp) All Times Except Nights (ends at 10:00pm)

(C) Wash. Hts - 168 St. - Lefferts Blvd (Lcl) All Times

(S) Rock Park Shuttle stays in place; as does the rush hour (A) that runs peak direction B. 116 St. - 59 St.

Also gives full-time (A) express service with the (C) local full-time, Lefferts Customers still get their express in the morning and evening rush hours, but eliminates the late night (S) service with a full-time (C). And (C) trains should convert to 10 car sets.

What you guys think?

Also where are the extra subway cars coming from? Not a bad idea but since we are in fiscal crisis it wont happen any time soon.

I would revise the (A)diamond to run to/from Lefferts rush hours only. That the only way the NIMBYS near the Lefferts stations IMO would ever agree to the (C)

running full time.

Also at yesterday's public hearing, about cutting service and proposal service changes.

The Rockaways resident are not happy with Rockaway Park (S) or long (A) train. They want (A) all times at Far Rockaway, (E) at Rockaway Park, and (C) at Ozoen Park because they have no choice and they have to paid $1.03 discount at Cross Bay Bridge toll to get bet Queens and Queens.

bad idea,

just have the (A) run to Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue at all times, (C) to Lefferts Boulevard-Ozone Park (except late nights, when it runs as a shuttle between Lefferts and Euclid), and keep the Rockaway Park Shuttle intact.

totally agree.

(A) between Far Rockaway-Mott Av, Queens and Inwood-207 St, Manhattan via Fulton St-8 Av-CPW Express @ all times, with Rush Hour (A) express service to and from Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St, Queens, except late nights. Late Nights via Local replacing the (C).

(C) between Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd, Queens and Washington Heights-168 St, Manhattan via Fulton-8 Av-CPW Local @ all times, except late nights. Late Night (C) trains operate between Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd, Queens and ENY-Euclid Av, Brooklyn. (Use (A) for service between ENY-Euclid Av, Brooklyn and Washington Heights-168 St, Manhattan.)

(S) Rockaway Park Shuttle remains unchanged. Continues to operate between Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St, Queens and Broad Channel, Queens @ all times.

ENY Euclid?

Either you mean Euclid Avenue, or East New York (Broadway Junction)

has to mean Euclid Avenue. trains cannot terminate at Broadway Junction.

Actually it can. But you have to relay like this:

You clear, Manhattan-bound side of Broadway Junction.

You switch to express-track, Manhattan-bound, then switch to the Queens-bound express track.

The T/O on the other side operate sthe trian back to the station on the Queens-bound side express.

You switch back to the local track.
