"A woman who was escorted off an Amtrak train by police this weekend after she allegedly refused to stop talking loudly on her cell-phone has the Internet cheering her fate.

Civilians and quiet-car champions are supporting her ejection for violating policy at high volume during the 16-hour journey. It doesn't help her cause that she became belligerent when confronted about it by one of her fellow passengers."

Good for that fat b*tch. The other day when I was on Megabus, this chickenhead talked from Boston all the way to New York. I couldn't even take a nap.

Its apart of traveling...cant deal with it...so be it. But to charge someone with a disorderly in that situation is stupid. No other law applied to the situation so they figuered a Disorderly was logical. Me and my friend was charged with disorderly conduct in Astoria 4 years ago because the music in my car was too loud. The cop got mad because I told him I wasnt going to answer any of his questions and my friend did the same. He kept asking where I got the car from and I told him it was none of his business and he arrested us. 10mins later my mom(lawyer) comes down. Long story short the charges were dismissed when we went to court.

To arrest someone for talking loud on a phone is stupid. Too stop an entire train for that is just stupid.

Jesus Christ, arresting someone for using a cell phone and talking loudly? Amtrak Police must be dumb.... Removing her or speaking to her is fine.. But cuffing her is a NO!

Sheeh that wasn't cool calling someone "Fat B9tch"..... For you MB incident. If you didn't like it, then move to another seat.

TBH I don't like the quiet car rule. If im sitting in a train and someone emergency calls me, what, am I gonna ignore the call because im in a car that you must SHUT UP about it?

I took a ride on a Silverliner 5 on SEPTA R8, and i was talking low with one of my friends on a QUIET car.. We were within the city zone and some lady complaining that we all need to shut up because this is the quiet time and no one can talk soft or nada... Well she failed because the conductor said that the quiet car does NOT go into affect until we are out of the city limits... And we are allowed to talk but low..

As 553, its apart of traveling and I agree.. Live with it.. If you want a quiet car buy a vehicle..

TBH idk whats so quiet about a quiet car, you can still hear things around you, such as the announcements and train movements...

Now I do admit sometimes it gets annoying when people talk loudly.. That i can admit.. Being soft talkers is fine.. But loud and disrespectful is a no...

Some people are extremely uptight about a lot of stuff.

Pitching a fit about it only makes the situation worse.

I agree with Amtrak police on this. People honestly don't know how annoying their phones make them.

You're missing the point though. The article says that "Amtrak created quiet cars in 2001." She was talking for 16 hours straight on the cell phone in a quiet section of the train, so the passengers were in every right to be annoyed. I mean that's ridiculous. If she wanted to yack like that, then don't go to an area that has clearly been designated as a quiet area.

Im not missing any point here. To waste taxpayers money to arrest someone talking on a phone is silly. And then you have to present this to a court...come on now via garibadi seriously? Its silly. Move the person to another car and be done with it. I understand she was talking i understand but to stop an entire train come on now. And these people in the public over react to everything.

This what you people get in a wolrd of cell phones. Now we have a bunch of silly ideas about quiet cars. I love my cell phone but it is causing too many silly ideas and too think you can get arrested over it is silly. To present a disorderly case of being on a cell phone....a criminal record over a cell phone. Disorderly conduct is a civil matter and it stays on your record.

16hrs straight and you believe that? I would love for them to prove that in court. There is no one in this world that will talk on a phone for 16hrs straight.

Actually I can believe that. The only thing I'm curious about is how she kept her phone charged that long if she had nowhere to charge it. There's a lady that gets on my express bus in the morning. The minute she sits down or even before then she is on the cell phone at 08:30 in the morning non-stop for the whole hour to an hour and a half. She would come and run and sit right behind me. I would move and give her the look like why the f*ck are you sitting here. Then one morning I got really pissed off and I started cursing and looking dead at her. I said something like "Every f*cking morning w/this sh*t", but she got the message and people were looking around because I was clearly pissed off. She doesn't come sitting near me anymore. In sum, I think it's ridiculous also to arrest someone, but the problem is people have no consideration or self control.

We had another lady that used to get on and she would be talking so loud that people would literally come over to her and tell that she had to calm down. She would be practically be yelling in her native language. This one chick looked back at her once and I can't remember if she told her to shut up or not, but if she didn't the look that she gave her said enough and she got off of that phone. lol

Amtrak arresting the loud-cell phone talker from the "Quiet Car" was a good move on their part!
