Due to the truck crash in New Haven yesterday, southbound Amtrak trains from Boston were turning at Old Saybrook to head back north.
I arrived to see this train stopped on track 1
The trains passengers were let off and were milling about. Some called taxis and I saw a CT Transit bus show up as well.
Southbound Regional 175 arriving late into OSB and on track 3.
Moar disembarked passengers!
Some limo showed up.
Uncoupling AEM7 929 from the train to change ends
AEM7 looking like a trolley at Old Saybrook
After relaying east of the station, he came back on track 3 to couple with the Amfleets
A SLE rescue shuttle arrived to take passengers to Branford, where they would be bused to NHV Union Station. At a little after 8 I left to get dinner.
According to the news Amtrak service has been restored, with delays.
