Since DCAS and MTA separated how do you apply for transit jobs now. I've been trying to figure out a way to apply for the bus operator and traffic checker positions but to no avail. August 3rd is the filing date for both...thanks in advance.

You have to register first, on the top right hand side click here to register.
https://exam.nyct.co...&NY_CGW_Type=E
$61.00 non refundable application fee.
There is no "test" per se.
They will assign you a random list number.
Applicants will be notified of their list number by mail within 8
weeks of the application deadline and will be canvassed in order of
their random list number to participate in the Bus Operator Selection
Survey process.
There is no education or work experience requirements by the way.
You don't have to be a NYC resident to apply.
How much was the fee for the last MTA Bus or Mabstoa exam?
Safe bet that the next NYCTA B/O exam for next year will raise
it's fee(it was $40.00 for the 2008 exam).

You and I filed among many others from the 8006 list.
It's always good to have a back up just in case.
We should get our list numbers in the mail before the end of September.

Who cares what they do with the money, it's beyond our control anyway.
The last MTA Bus exam was on 2007, so it's that time again.
maxamillion: With DCAS some exams waived the fee if you could prove
that you are unemployed, but this is the MTA now, I didn't read anything
about it on the NOE. Best to call them and make sure.

Still on the list for exam 8006 for B/O, and 8094 for Conductor. I'm going to look into sending the 61.00 fee sometime this month. Had my CDL license for 3years, and no luck as of yet as far as job hunting is conceren. I also have an interview on August 12th for the Casino that's opening up at Aqueduct Racetrack real soon, and I'm looking into taking some Bartending courses real soon. Trying to make some extra money since I'm not happy where I'm at...

There is no exam, you receive a ticket(aka list number) to the dance.
Similar to the Mabstoa exams. The server was down late last night.
I expect a lot of applicants for this exam.

You mean they give you a ticket for a date and time as far as when to take the exam? WHY?

That one went right over your head, it's cool though.
From what I read on the notice of examination, they will
mail you a list number but in random order, it's not like the
first one to file gets the lowest number.
There is no exam, you are basically paying $61.00 for a list number.
If I remember correctly one of the mabstoa exams was that you had
to cut out a coupon in the newspaper and mail it in along with the
application fee.

This is way different than the exam that I took for NYCT a few years back. I'll send the money ASAP.

I looked it up before and the last MTA Bus exam was in 2007.
MTA Bus is separate from TA and mabstoa, and the 8006 exam
was back in 2008, but that is neither here or there, good luck to all.
