Bus 539 sees bus 536 at a truck stop in Montgomery, NY (this is where the buses get washed and weighed before heading to NJ to fuel up before their delivery).

Interesting, and excellent shots.

Not to intrude, but do you work for New Flyer, the MTA, or a private transport service?

Thank you everyone...

MHV9218, No I don't work for the MTA, or New Flyer... I am an independent contractor (basically a contracted driver) for the company that New Flyer contracts out to transport the buses. We deliver the buses to another 3rd party contractor that gets the buses ready for delivery to the MTA.

New livery?

Do you know what surprises me? Every single (MTA) sticker is put on the bus in Minnesota! From the no radio playing,to fare info, to "hows my driving" on the back, I thought that was pretty interesting.

Yep, MTA sends all the decals to the manufacturer in the contracts with all the sizes, dimensions, and the location they want it in, so when the buses get here all they really need to do is install the radio, and register the buses.

Nice!

Does New Flyer put the speed governors in those buses in Minnesota?

I know most MTA local buses are capped at 40 MPH.

I POSTED THIS QUICK THIS MORNING, just proof read it now and edited it as I posted too quick and left out some words. My brain was working but not my fingers lol

The buses are governered at about 56 when we get them, thank got its not 40 56 is slow enough on routes like the Indiana toll Road and Ohio Turnpike where the speed limit is 70. Actually I don't think they'd be able to cap it at 40 as the minimum speed posted on most of highways we take is 45.

The buses are governered at this speed because they are made for city driving not highway driving. We do multiple stops enroute for 30 minutes for a tire cool down/fluid check.

So u drive the buses to New jersey from where?

I pick these buses up in Minnesota, New Flyer manufactures all of theses buses in Minnesota...

The deliveries are on going they occasionally get held at the factory for whatever reason (I'm not told why) they usually get released in batches, the last batch was a big one because it was the end of New Flyer's quarter. As you can see by the pic of the contractors lot at JFK i posted in the C40LF thread (and another member posted here) the contractor has a lot of buses waiting to be put into service.

I haven't been to that lot in over 2 weeks, anyone know if there all still sitting there?

BTW more buses should be delivered to JFK this week, maybe as early as Monday through Wednesday...
