Sorry for the late post, but I'm thinking this could have been as a result of the Orion recall, but Wednesday, I spotted Charleston MCI #2170 on the S55 headed towards Rossville (Run# 711). I was coming out of the Princes Bay station and it took me by surprise.

If this is true (and I trust you, it's just kinda hard to believe and I'd like to see it for myself) that's quite something...and will make a few certain members here a little annoyed.

I'm sure it's about to get real in here, so I'll say what I have to say real quick.

I think the B/O might have just put that up, but then again it was on the actual S55 route, so I'm quite puzzled here. But why put a MCI on a local, even with the Orion recall? There's other buses that the MTA could send there if there was a shortage.

sigh.....

Anyway, It's not the first time MCIs was on local routes, when Queens Blvd was shut down, they ran MCIs on the Q60 to handle the loads of people. I wouldn't really rule this out though this can be a number of things.

I saw this too...it was signed up as an S55 to Huguenot - Luten Avenue, around 8:45 in the morning.

Good thing it was with this week and not next week cuz Tottenville kids would have a field day with the soft seats, making someone very very mad lololololol

Wasn't Wednesday the day that the brush fire had broke out in SI? I think it was the emergency trippers that came out from that.

Well, at least he's in Riverdale.

In any case, they probably put it on the S55 because hardly anybody rides it, so there's less of a chance the seats will get ripped or anything.

To help me restore the S67, sign here. The route would be restructured to benefit more people, and you could be one of them. Let's make this sign a reality. Posted Image
