I noticed on Google Maps, US Route 1 (New York) shows West City Avenue along the Trans-Manhattan/Cross Bronx, Webster, Fordham, and Main St/Boston (Post) Road.

Whats the deal? New Street name along US 1?

Looked on Google... Nothing.

*There is No US 1 signs ether. Don't know if its an error, or something else.

It should be a bug because I can't Google, nor Bing, any information about this particular Avenue, and out the top of my head, the only name possible is Boston/Post/Boston Post in that section of the Bronx.

Probably a bug. In Philadelphia Rt. 1 is called City Avenue for a good stretch of its length. Maybe there's a connection?

It's a Google Map Maker rendering error and should be fixed soon. The edit history for the entire length of US 1 shows the name being added on Mar 15, by someone who probably was intending to edit the Philly section and edited the whole route by mistake. It was then reverted back around a week ago.

Because the route is so long, it takes weeks to render each phase.

This is a Philadelphia-bound PATCO train. The next stop is Haddonfield.

UPDATE: I'm putting a new gallery featuring pictures of buses I shot. Here's the link:http://transitjeopar...te-gallery-pics .To be fully complete, it might take several months,as I have a lot of photos and I am trying to get them all into the gallery (over 1,000). Be patient, enjoy what I have, and come back each day to see more pictures

Even if it were an Easter Egg, hopefully it wasn't done on purpose. This website is uses by millions for traveling, and it wouldn't be nice to confuse em. Now if theres a way to turn it off, thats good. Just like the Nintendo version of Google Maps, made a month ago.

Well, the Nintendo one was for April Fool's day, not literally a prime-time one, however sometimes there are mistakes, but as you know, Google Maps is hard work by developers. I think if you'd like them to fix it, email and get them noticed on the errors, however for now, it's an Easter Egg [Interwebs].

I see the "US Route XX in YY" mistakes ("US Route 20 in California" in Providence RI), but I can't seem to find an entry in the edit history that reflects this. Because more than just US20 is affected, I want to say this is a back-server error, not the data.

Should be fixed now (US1). I don't know what's up with the US routes in different states.

Yeah its fixed. Even tho there are still some flaws. US Route 6 in the Bear Mountains mention US 6 in Nevada and some other states.

I see NY 25 named Main Street from Queensboro Plaza all the way to Orient Point. I know Riverhead to OP has the name Main St, but the rest, WTF?!?!

Probably another rendering error, as I don't see any problematic entries or past edits when I checked Hillside Ave in Jamaica which exhibits the problem.

Queens Blvd. (NY-25) sometimes show up as Main Road. lol.

But, I think Google Maps need more attention from Google, things are really flawed, and few of my friends got lost when we went bowling earlier in the week, and they got directions from Google Maps, at least they spotted me waiting at the door and pulled the car into the lot, phew!
