I see the question for not just the other boroughs but also Manhattan as well? I'm wondering since I travel in, out and around Queens on public transportation, will I ever see select bus service? Also for the rest of the city as well? For some reason, I don't see it happening in Queens though.

Thank you for riding Long Island Bus. Major Transfer Point.

Bus operators are protected by New York state law. Assaulting a bus operator is a felony.

I only see it happening for the really slow lines but as good as Q44 is SBS can make it more of a sardine can as more ppl will crowd it.

Q44 makes the optimum SBS route. Already has a separate local variant, low speeds, high ridership, lots of alternatives, no subway alternatives.

But the problem is that SBS can't make every stop in the Bronx. So how about these stops? The Q20B would be extended to the Bronx and the Q76 rerouted to 14 Av.

14 Av
Bruckner Bl
Castle Hill Av
(6) station
Rosedale Av
(2)(5) station

Route extension: (only SBS buses; weekdays only)

Southern Bl & E 180 St
Southern Bl & Fordham Rd
Fordham Plaza

Bus lanes constructed along Union St north of Northern Bl, Queens Bl to the LIE. Mixed traffic in the Bronx/Jamaica/Flushing.

If it can't make every stop in The Bronx, I would do the following:

1. The SBS route would be called the Q50 and it would run between Dyre Av (5) station and Jamaica Center. It serves sections 1-2-4-5 in Co-Op City. It runs on the current Q44 path between Jamaica and 14th Av, then runs via the Q50 route to Pelham Bay, then serves to Section 5, then 4, 1, and 2. Then it goes up Peartree Av/Conner St, then Boston Rd and Dyre Av.

Stops
Dyre Av/Light St (5)
Carver Loop/Coop City Blvd
Donizetti Pl/Baychester Av
Coop City Blvd/Bartow Av
Einstein Loop/Hutchinson Pkwy East
Pelham Bay park/Bruckner Blvd
Country Club Rd
East Tremont Av
Lafayette Av/Hutchinson Pkwy
14 Av/Parsons Blvd
20 Av
26 Av/Union St
35 Av
39 Av/Main St
Long Island Expwy
Jewel Av
Union Tpke
Queens Blvd
Hillside Av/Sutphin Blvd
Sutphin Blvd/Archer Av
Parsons Blvd

2. Replacing the Q44 in the Bronx is the new Bx44. It would run from Flushing to Bronx HS of Science (it would end at Fordham Center evenings and weekends). It would run via the Q50 path between Flushing and Lafayette AV, then runs via Cross Bronx, Rosedale/Taylor, 180th St, Southern Blvd, Fordham Rd, Kingsbridge Rd, Goulden Av, 205th St.

3. The Bx44 heading to Bronx Science would allow the Bx22 to run to 225th/Broadway to help out the overcrowded Bx9.

Here is a map of proposed SBS Lines. Some of them already exists, some are canceled, and some already exists.

Faster service means that a higher frequency can be provided using the same resources. So the additional ridership should be accomodated by the more frequent service.

To help me restore the S67, sign here. The route would be restructured to benefit more people, and you could be one of them. Let's make this sign a reality. Posted Image

The Q5 was planned for SBS, but it was scrapped because of issues with the bus lanes taking away parking. Is there any way the (MTA) could have tried an offset bus lane instead of a curbside one?

The MTA reallyyyy shouldn't move the B44 LTD from New York Av to the less busy Rogers Av for SBS service. I want M101 SBS, also visit my small site. If you don't like my lame forum handle, you can call me Austin.

There are tons of areas which have no transit access so I say yes.
