I wouldn't eliminate the n80 because alternating between the n81 and the n80 makes sense, and extending the n58 to mineola isn't needed. Great Neck has many connections for people who take the n58 and from the n58 to the n20 gives even more available transfers. I also don't think the n78 has to be extended to WWM given it doesn't get [much or any] ridership east of Manetto Hill Rd and that area of Melville is mostly private residences. The n73/74 can be fixed just like the n80/81 with a n80 and an n73 one hour, then an n81 and an n74 the next hour.

For some reason, I didn't think that would work either... fixed.

Meh...

What I thought. My original plan was to send it to SUNY, which is now shown.

Problem solved by turning every other n78 at Hicksville.

@ Q23

geez, that's a long n2 and n8...

and why does the n6 no longer use HTC? Artics in front of LIRR station stop like I suggested?

Ever since the N78 was cut to rush hours only, peak direction (EB AM/WB PM) trips carry reasonable loads east of Manetto Hill. Reverse peak trips regularly leave Hicksville with < 6 passengers.

I don't like the extension to SUNY Farmingdale unless its rush hours only, its too much low-ridership mileage through Melville to serve what may not be a giant traffic generator.

Good idea with the n77. It should use Glen Cove Rd instead of Post Ave, though.

N50 to Crossways via Woodbury Rd: even though I would love to see this happen, it would probably garner little or no ridership at Crossways. It would be better to deviate the N77 via Crossways during rush hours and extend the N81 if necessary. Neither the 80 or 81 should go into Broadway Mall, ridership there is virtually nonexistant.

And reroute the N73 off the local streets already!

The n2 and n8 would operate on Little Neck Parkway in order to restore some ridership on the Q79. These buses would operate on 1 hour headways on it's combined route.

The n6 I did for some reason, Because I couldnt put the stupid point inside HTC.

Interesting cause when I was out there (two weeks ago I think), I saw two close to empty N78s.

I suggested putting getting the artics to stop inside Hempstead Transit Center on those side kinda-parking spots.

N17: I know I proposed an extension to the Mineola LIRR Station in the previous forum, but the N17 to Mineola wouldn't work with it's current head ways. You need to add a couple of trips in order for this to work.

N18: There's no demand for bus service along Long Beach Road. People who live on that street usually walk to the N35 at Baldwin Road, or the N16 at Franklin Street for service to the Hempstead Terminal. As for Rockville Centre, it doesn't need another bus route. The N15 and N16 both serve that area and have modest amount of ridership. I wish I can say the same thing for the N17, but it's just a glorified shuttle for Mercy Medical Center.

Currently replying to only your n58 extension. I concur with Brett. I don't think it's needed because of the major connections.

On the other hand, while I don't like it going from Mineola to Kings Point, I do like the section from Great Neck to Mineola as a route of itself (I'll call it the n59 for this case). There isn't a one-bus connection between the two, and I feel it would be good to have. My worry, though, is will it attract riders, especially those who live in south Lakeville.

My point was it's hard to get to the north shore between Hempstead, Jamiaca, and Hicksville (the n23,n25,n26,n27 are it) but some of those routes are only part time as well

Why is the N33 extended to Broad Channel?
