Someone posted over in Subchat that the seats don't recline and the layout is sorta like MTA's RTS and Orion V suburbans. He also said they have a hard ride, think Gillig Phantom...

Those 139 riders arent gonna be happy, and they will sorely miss those MCI CNGs as will I.

http://www.subchat.c...d.asp?Id=268804

NJT never should've accepted this bid and stuck with tried and true MCI, now they are getting the equivalent of ST's 2005 Gilligs. :o

Engine is the Cummins ISL-G, same as the NICE Orion 7's. That should work well on the highways.

Knew it. This order was doomed from the start, and I don't give a damn if I get flamed again for saying that. I'm definitely not surprised about those seats, like I've said this is basically a transit bus with suburban seating coming from a transit bus builder and is not gonna be near as good as an MCI or Prevost as far as quality, seating, ad the overall motorcoach feel to it goes.

Now I didn't ride it myself, but I'll believe what I'm hearing on Subchat. Doesn't surprise me one bit.

And that right there makes you a moron for judging too damn quickly.

And the rest of that post made 0 sense whatsoever because whether you like it or not, MCI builds transit buses with transit style / Suburban Style configurations and Prevost will be as well. And also, that pretty much makes them a transit bus builder because they build for transit companies all over the U.S....they aren't called COMMUTER COACHES for nothing.....

Just because they lack a few small things doesn't mean the order is doomed. You dumbasses dont even give the bus a chance nor have you ever got to ride the damn thing and ya'll wanna make piss-ant predictions already....you don't even KNOW how the bus is and you are already making retarded comparisons....that's like comparing McDonalds to Ruby Tuesdays....such dumb comparisons....

Get your head out of that foambucket and get them facts straight....and stop trying to be a know-it-all foamer....

I'm just going to say that until you actually ride the bus making an opinion on the bus being garbage just because you read something over on another transit site (one that I might add is prone to flame wars) and say it lacks certain features is just that an opinion. It's not going to stop NJT from ordering them any way. No one knows how the bus will preform. I don't even understand why some users can't seem to just get that bit of info straight in their heads the first time. It's a very simple thing and some of you guys are making a really big deal out of this.

These kids are too young(and too stupid) to even grasp that concept....they all live by the hearsay & bullshit....you could tell them that Obama won the WWE Championship and they'll believe it in a heartbeat....

I am not too shocked about that. Thinking before posting is becoming rare and if not extinct around here. Maybe this is part of the reason why threads don't last long.

They're probably like the damn Multilevels. Ever see the seating on the newer 6xxx NABIs? Imagine those in more of a motorcoach-style form. Don't assume people are gonna like this bus because it's new like they apparently like the NABIs. Plenty of people like the reclining seats on the MCIs.

You should probably take your own advice and don't assume that these buses will be bad when you haven't even set foot on one...

If there's no reclining seats that's gonna be a BIG deal, you gotta admit that.

Might be, might not. They could send the bus back and make adjustments to it just like the MTA did with the XD60.

Besides, what you read was HEARSAY.....there's no CONFIRMATION....lets wait and see.....

An honest question to you. Have they had the most credible information in the past?

Also, why this sudden hate for Designline, when it's NJT that has choosen the seats in all their buses so far. If you have a problem with the seats, by all means go voice your concern to them (this is however assuming you've ridden the bus).

Lastly, has anyone tried to make out the seat model using the silhouette alone. From what I see, the seats are most likely the American Seating model 2005 or 2095, both of which are said to recline. I could be wrong, but the evidence so far leads me to believe the seats will recline.

Calm down dude, sheesh. Don't speak for the whole damn forum, and just stop being so damn mean when you don't get much respect here either. And you don't know that, this is NJT and I don't think anyone would've predicted those seats coming to the NABIs.

It isn't "sudden hate" for Designline, I haven't really liked them well ever. Just my opinion. But you are right about that, the seats are NJT's fault and it would be those geniuses' faults if these buses have the seating they're speculated to have.

I think that's been established. I get what you're saying though, but by all means feel free to voice your concern(s) to the agency. Will they cancel the entire order, no. At the same time, they solicited your feedback for the future. You may think it's useless doing so, but it never hurts to do so.

I will be honest, the bus or motorcoach looks great. At first, i was skeptical about it at first but i rather reserve my opinion about it until i see for myself. But i do admit the AC unit on the roof threw me off. Maybe when i am back home, i will give my two cents or approval on the darn thing (hoping it makes it rounds doing the 67 one day).

But first off duty calls, since i am in the US Army. Have a great day folks

If you guys want coaches with reclining seats ride Greyhound. Guys I have a question. Can we get back on topic please? I don't want to see a thread that has potential get closed again.

Thing is these buses have always had reclining seats, the riders are used to it.

And yes I agree, let's just STOP ARGUING about this BS already. I expressed my opinion, some of you expressed yours. Just say what you have to say about this apparent seat change and move on like I TRIED to do, at least until there's confirmation (though I personally believe what's being said about the seats).
