SI1980 Posted March 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2013 I have a couple of old photographs of different areas of Staten Island. These photographs are from the collection of a man by the name of Joe Testagrose, and they show vintage city buses that were once in service. I am not a die-hard fan of them, but, in my opinion, I think they are aesthetically pleasing, due to their rather unique design. The scenery is great as well. A vintage bus near Grant City on Staten Island. Early 1960s. At the corner of Victory Blvd. and St. Mark's Place. 1970s. Bay Street is in the background. St. George section of Staten Island. New Dorp Lane and Edison Street. 1971. I personally like this photograph. Last, but not least, is Hylan Blvd. and Richmond Avenue. 1981. This area has really changed over the years. Martin Paints is no longer at the corner. A C.V.S. is now there.

SI1980 Posted March 26, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted March 26, 2013 Here are a couple of others that I have. These are from the collection of Joe Testagrose as well. At the corner of Hylan Blvd. and Allendale Rd. 1978. Bay Street and Stuyvesant Place. 1972. St. George section of Staten Island. Borough hall is in the background. Craig Avenue and Butler Avenue. 1971. I originally grew up not too far away from this area on Staten Island. At the corner of Richmond Avenue (now Port Richmond Avenue) and Villa Avenue. 1972. Forest Avenue is to the right. Bay Street and Richmond Terrace. 1971. St. George. Clove Rd. and Victory Blvd. 1971. The deli at the corner (left) is no longer there, by the way. Last, but not least, Lilly Pond Avenue and Staten Island Expwy. exit 15S ramp. 1970. Near Fort Wadsworth.
