Question about Senior Citizen reduced fare metrocard

Okay so my dad turned 65 yesterday and that means he is entitled to the reduced fare metrocard. My question is how does one pay for this metrocard? My parents don't want to do the easypay option. Is that the only option though? Thanks!

Well the first question is does he have the card? A co-worker of mine had a reduced fare pass.  You have to apply for that first then wait for it to be mailed.  You can call the (MTA) or go on the website (www.mta.info) for the particulars, but the paperwork can be filed down at 3 Stone St. If he doesn't want to do the Easy-Pay option then he'll have to refill it like everyone else does at a subway station via a token booth clerk or a Metrocard vending machine.
