(you know, transporting commuters is the service they offer and they need those commuters to continue providing the service)
Joel Up Front Posted July 12, 2013 Share #5 Posted July 12, 2013 A lot of popular restaurants here aren't catered by bus riders.
Turbo19 Posted July 12, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 12, 2013 A lot of popular restaurants here aren't catered by bus riders. I believe the word is patronize(d). And that's besides the point. It seems as this is more of an attempt to capture discretionary riders.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted July 12, 2013 Share #7 Posted July 12, 2013 Well here's a list of popular restaurants in Nassau County http://www.eatoutlongisland.com/top_nassau.asp

It seems as this is more of an attempt to capture discretionary riders. I was thinking of something else when I was typing that up. Well here's a list of popular restaurants in Nassau County http://www.eatoutlongisland.com/top_nassau.asp Quite a few of those are closed. At any rate, if people know about the restaurant, odds are they're not going alone and they're sure as hell not taking a bus there.

qjtransitmaster Posted July 13, 2013 Share #10 Posted July 13, 2013 I met some going to a bar via LIRR I helped then out as they needed a fast way to the bar so I suggested they take N40 they did but NICE would need to raise awareness.

With any luck these "Hot Spots" will make NICE an appealing alternative to those traveling to such destinations. Sure there will be critics, but it's better than nothing at all. With any luck NICE will generate a few extra trips under this.
FamousNYLover Posted July 13, 2013 Share #12 Posted July 13, 2013 Speaking of restaurant, I think Nassau County Health Department should post which restaurant is best and which restaurant has violation. In Suffolk County, you could check online to see which restaurants provide good safe restaurant online.

NICE just needs to improve reliability it takes time but they can do it.
FamousNYLover Posted July 13, 2013 Share #14 Posted July 13, 2013 I meant they could tell NICE which restraunts are safe. To me, Wild Figs on Franklin Av/7th St restraunt is good.
Vistausss Posted July 13, 2013 Share #15 Posted July 13, 2013 It's not up to NICE to show commuters which restaurants are safe.
Burrstone Posted July 14, 2013 Share #16 Posted July 14, 2013 I think showing what good restaurants are on a NICE route, but whats the point of sticker to scan on the winow? You're already there... Look out Yelp, here comes NICE! lol
qjtransitmaster Posted July 14, 2013 Share #17 Posted July 14, 2013 Soo much better than MTA LIB GO NICE hotspots!!!!
Vistausss Posted July 14, 2013 Share #18 Posted July 14, 2013 I think showing what good restaurants are on a NICE route I agree on that. I just disagreed with Yuki about showing which restaurants are *safe*. That's up to the health department, not NICE.

Vistausss Posted August 13, 2013 Share #21 Posted August 13, 2013 Her name is Latoyah. And I think she does a good job. She has a bit too many shorts (some longer videos would be nice) so I would't really call here "THE" Facebook face but she's nice and really clear with her voice and wording so I like her
Burrstone Posted August 13, 2013 Share #22 Posted August 13, 2013 Whenever I see a NICE video posted from FB she is in it so that's why I call her the facebook face of NICE... I was wondering if she had a "real" job with NICE, like do they have a marketing department?
Vistausss Posted August 13, 2013 Share #23 Posted August 13, 2013 Just out of curiosity: does she happen to be an ex-LIB employee? Or did NICE hire her?
