realizm Posted April 14, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2014 Last we checked in with the ongoing work on the East Side Access project, which will connect commuter trains from Long Island Rail Road to Grand Central, the long-delayed endeavor was being delayed even longer, likely until the next decade. But at least the MTA is trying to put a sunny face on the whole endeavor—as Gwyneth Paltrow's husband once predicted, everything is all yellow in the tunnels under Manhattan's East Side.Or maybe they've been watching a lot of True Detective and have been driven mad by The King in Yellow. Either way, it's kind of hypnotizing watching the space come together after so many years—remember when it looked like the set of some '70s sci-fi/James Bond-esque film? Recently Gov Cuomo ordered for a managerial shakeup at the MTA and creation of a new management to oversee the project due to the horrendous delays with this project. A railroading project being ten years off the mark is no laughing matter. The irony of this is that it's basically been a decade since the MTACC was formed to unify MTA construction projects. That IMO was a mistake; too much on one plate. We'll be lucky if this gets finished at all...
