TS2014: ACS-64 E-Bell Doppler Effect Fix and Volume Mod Released

Recommended Posts

Hehe, Amtrak ACS-64 666, The Devil's Sprinter XD...

This is the Amtrak ACS-64 Graham-White 373 Series E-Bell Doppler Effect Fix pack.

In order to utilize this freeware sound upgrade, you must have purchased the NEC: New York - New Haven Route Add-On available at Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/258643/

This is a freeware pack; in no way is it to be used for commercial purposes. You are free, however to use the sounds for personal use if you so choose.

The purpose of this pack is to replace the default E-bell sound that comes with the pack with a file of the same sound that is optimized for the game to add the doppler effect that is missing from the original file.

The parameters that are required for a sound to exhibit the doppler effect in the game are as follows:

1. File is in mono.

2. File is 16 bit.

3. File is 44,100 hZ

I have also played around with the volume of the K5LA in respects to the bell, tuning down the originally loud bell and raising the airchime volume.

IMPORTANT; Install Instructions; ALWAYS CREATE BACKUP FILES TO REVERT TO INCASE INSTALLATION DOES NOT PROCEED AS PLANNED!

1. Open the "NewYorkNewHavenAssets.ap" pack file with .7z

2. Proceed to open folders until the .7z directory reads "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\NewYorkNewHaven\NewYorkNewHavenAssets.ap\Audio\RailVehicles\Electric\ACS-64\Cab\".

3. Then open the "Railworks_Amtrak_ACS-64_Bell_Sound_Doppler_Effect_Fix.rar" file.

4. Highlight all files in the .rar file and drag them into the .ap file directory.

5. Click "OK" when it asks you to Confirm File Copy.

6. The installation should be complete. Run TS2014 to confirm.

Thank you for downloading and installing.

Enjoy =)
