Union Tpke Posted August 17, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2014 09/22/1913 [LIRR Car 1526, College Point Wreck] nterior of the first car on the west bound LIRR train 311, car 1526 on the day of a head on collision on the Long Island Railroad near College Point, Long Island. This train collided with the east bound LIRR train 308 on the morning of September 22, 1913. The accident resulted in the death of three LIRR employees and one passenger. 09/04/1923 Flushing Bridge Street station along the Whitestone Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. The Whitestone branch of the LIRR was built starting in 1869 as part of the Flushing and North Side railroad system.
