With Darevill Bus Ride Challenge no one ever has done before, Long Island Bus Riders Union, Long Island Jobs with Justice will be covering all Suffolk County Transit bus fares for bus trip, including one night hotel stay, and my Hampton Jitney ride home from Southhampton to Queens Airport connection. We're doing race across both North and South Folks of Long Island by using NICE Bus and Suffolk County Transit for 2-day challenge.

Long Beach Street of New York are also joining us on bus ride.

We're also meeting with elected officials along with route.

I'm really confused with S92 bus schedule because they don't tell what is major stop for Southhampton.

If I want to Hampton Jitney bus stop at 395 County Road 39A, The Omni, Southampton, NY, where I should get off East Hampton S92 bus stop?

I properly might leave early on 16th because I have to help my mom with guesthouse check in later afternoon, and I don't want to miss Hampton Jitney.

If you do not want to meet LIBRU members, avoid following buses.

Trip details for October 15-16
Step 1: Starting at Jamaica Center, boarding 6:30 n4 Freeport arriving Lynbrook-5 Corners at 7:06. Possibly bus might run late. If bus runs late, maybe n4X which pickup in Valley Stream at Central and Rockaways Avs goes to Lynbrook 5-corners as well.

Step 2: 7:40 n36 Freeport arriving Freeport Station at 8:12.

Step 3: 8:26 n40 Mineola arriving Hempstead Transit Center 8:50.

Staying until 10:30.

Step 4: 10:40 n49 Jericho arriving Hicksville Station at 11:09.
Possibily bus might run late since it's busy route.

Step 5: 11:55 n79 South Huntington arriving Walt Whitman Mall at 12:31pm.

Step 6: 13:30 S23 Babylon arriving Babylon Station at 14:20.
We could ask driver to radio 14:30 S27 bus.
Maybe this might be late.

Step 7: 14:30 S27 Happague arriving NYS Office Building at 15:37.

This bus is sometimes late.

Step 8: 15:30 S54 Patchogue departing at 16:09, arriving NYS 454/Johnson Av at 16:30. Most likely late.

Step 9: 15:S54 Patchogue departing at 17:03, arriving Patchogue Station at 18:50. Most likely late.

Step 10: 17:30 S66 Riverhead arriving 18:50.
If connection is not made, 18:30 S66 Riverhead arriving 19:50.

10/16
Step 11: 7:00 S92 Oriental Point departing 7:50, arriving Oriental Point at 8:55.

Step 12: 9:40 S92 East Hampton arriving East Hampton Station 12:15.

I will most likely taking 5:15am S92 East Hampton, 5:45am S92 boarding at Riverhead County Center at 5:55am or 6:25am, arriving Southhampton at 6:35 or 7:05.

Way to paint your fellow cohorts..... As Nuisances!

At the only one that exists - at the railroad station.

(The S92 no longer serves the village the way it used to (rt 114 > rt 27 > newtown, to the RR station)).

Good luck with that walk from the RR station to the HJ stop within the village, over there by Palm restaurant.....

heh, more like you didn't take the S92 on the 16th because you were too busy riding multiple NICE routes....

btw, what happened to this:

We cannot miss connection because we're meeting with elected officials along the route.

For shame.... You let them down.....

Those elected officials were just DYING to meet you & your LIBRU (lib-roo) cohorts!

We were met by sexy Nassau County Legislature Laura Curran at Hempstead Transit Center where she took 8:26 n41 Mineola portion from Freeport Station to Hempstead with 1 LIBRU and Long Beach Street NY who took 6:30 n4 Freeport, 7:40 n36 Freeport because I overslept, so I had to start from 6:55 n20L Hicksville to Greenvale PATHmark, shopping quickly there, 8:25 n27 Hempstead to Hempstead to catch up with bus race. We have 105 likes on facebook pages, along with Laureton Queens resident transit buff who works in various Nassau/Suffolk County areas, and camera guy, all five of us got on 10:40 n49 Jericho to Hicksville Station, where leader bought sandwitch and drink for us, then we boarded 11:55 n79 South Hungtington to Walt Whitman Mall, 10 minutes late, so we took break at Panera Bread, where we got support from member of Long Island Jobs with Justice.

It was Long Beach St NY's first time riding Suffolk County Buses.

All five of us got paper transfer, then we got on 1:30pm S23 Babylon #5026 which was male driver which got to Babylon Station 3 minutes early. Then same driver got interline for 2:30pm S27 Happague trip. He was very friendliest driver. When we approached Brentwood, there was train crossing, and we pulled over to Brentwood Station, somebody was taking picture of bus, and I thought it was busfan and I was nervous if bus driver could get nasty, but bus driver didn't. It happens to be Assemblyman Phil Ramos of Brentwood who took ride with us to Happague New York State Office Building, where bus riders of Suffolk County riders, along with Senator Phil Boyle joined in conferess, then after that we took our 15:30 S54 Patchogue to Veteran Memorial Highways/Smithtown Av where we got off to take picture of our pit stop with airport shot in background, then took 15:55 S54 Patchogue to Patchogue Station. She was very nice driver.

When we got off at Patchogue Station, we met cute adorable dog named Charlie the Suffolk County Transit. Laurelton Queens resident took S63 to catch his Coach USA bus to Queens Village. After dinner at Gino Pizza place, we boarded last 18:30 S66 Riverhead.

Unfortually, I had to get off at 9-lane Williams Floyd Parkway at TD Bank because I thought it was going to be heavy rain next dayand I didn't want to stranded in heavey rainstorm because I had to go home to do guesthouse check in on 16th. He was very nice driver and he told me that Shirley doesn't get flloded, but Riverhead does.

After that, I took nice train ride home to Jamaica-Woodside, then via Q70 and Q72 home.

While 1 LIBRU and 1 Long Beach St NY member stay overnight at Riverhead Hyatt b/c Long Beach St NY member didn't like the look of Budget Inn on Lake Av.

Next morning on 16th, they got on 7:00 S92 Oriental Point at around 7:55, got off Oriental Point at 8:55, 9:40 S92 East Hampton and got off around 12:15-12:30pm.

It floods down down by the water in Shirley and Mastic Beach (Not on the S66 route) when it rains bad enough. I don't think the rains we got recently were bad enough to flood though. I'd never cross by the TD bank, I normally cross William Floyd down where they are building the new Taco Bell, though yes it would have been easier for you to cross at TD because the bus stop is there and it is closer to the Railroad Station.

Was the dogs name really Charlie the Suffolk County Transit?

When I went to have dinner at Burger King with leftover pizza from Patchogue Station, I crossed at mark crosswalk. I also had safety vest on.

After that, I used crosswalk to get to Walgreens, then cross to PATHmark to do shopping. Then family dollar to buy pen, and ate $1 Ice Cream at Checkers, ask direction at Pizza Hut. At same moment, Montauk train was crossing Williams Floyd Parkway and I cross parkway safety to other side at same time.

Sounds like you may have crossed at the spot where I said I cross. I've crossed William Floyd when the train has some though as well, that's the most easiest time to cross. LOL. (Wearing a safety vest wouldn't decrease your chances of possibly being hit though, There seem to be afew people that get hit crossing William Floyd, the last that I'm aware of was a hit and run a few weeks ago in the section that you crossed, luckily those that were hit were okay for hat I heard.) But I think you mean you brought a pen at Dollar Tree, since Family Dollar is up by King Kullen which isn't close to the RR tracks.

I was more impressed that he brought pizza to Burger King.

I also ate with Burger King french fries and milk shake.

  • 3 months later...

I'm really confused with S92 bus schedule because they don't tell what is major stop for Southhampton.

If I want to Hampton Jitney bus stop at 395 County Road 39A, The Omni, Southampton, NY, where I should get off East Hampton S92 bus stop?

Ok. I know I'm VERY late...about four months late...but if I read this question correctly (and I read it like 10 times), the S92 does not serve The OMNI (Hampton Jitney). The 10A bus does that and that's like every other trip. The routing of the S92 is:

County Road 39 (Sunrise Hwy)

***Entering Southampton Village***

North Sea Rd

Windmill Lane

Nugent St (which is more than likely the "Southampton" stop the schedule is referring to)

Hampton Rd

Little Plains Rd (Southampton Town Hall)

Meeting House Lane (Southampton Hospital)

Old Town Rd

Hampton Rd

***Leaving Southampton Village***

Montauk Hwy (NYS 27)

So I hope that helps (even though I'm four months late responding...LOL)

If you're looking to catch the Hampton Jitney in East Hampton, then the stop is on Main St (NYS 27) where as the LAST stop of the S92 is at the East Hampton L.I.R.R. Station. That's about a 20 minute walk. I think "B35 via Church" responded to that part of the question so credit him.
