46Dover Posted October 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 25, 2014 ATTENTION ALL OPERATORS AND PASSENGERS While at a Union meeting yesterday, our local president informed us that there is talk of a bus lane leaving from New York in the afternoon. details are still being worked out. Stay tuned
BZGuy Posted October 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2014 I'll believe that one when I see it. I don't see how you would get the Rt. 3 or Turnpike North buses on their respective highways without extensively reconstructing 495.
DaTransitMan4608 Posted October 25, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 25, 2014 There should be an XBL Into PABT. There's more traffic going inbound than there is outbound.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted October 25, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 25, 2014 There should be an XBL Into PABT. There's more traffic going inbound than there is outbound. They need it. Lots of the delays leaving the city are because buses are stuck on 495 or in the tunnel coming from the depot. And riding into the city in the PM rush, forget it. Hate doing that so much, if I'm in NJ I NEVER take a late afternoon bus back.

At least not anymore, and that's because I hop the train or take the 67 to the PATH if I'm in a fanning mood on a budget. Only time I'm willing to take the bus into NYC is if 7278 is out and I have time, $$ and a good opportunity to go ride it. Which won't be the case come next month since the rest should start coming in by then.
Cait Sith Posted October 25, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 25, 2014 They've been talking about a bus lane of some type since 2005. I'll believe it when I see it.
BZGuy Posted October 25, 2014 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2014 A PM XBL into the Port would back things up even more than what happens now. And it would slow down the outbound lanes. I don't really see the need for a PM XBL outbound because 495 westbound moves pretty well for the amount of traffic it's handling. It really wouldn't be that much faster.
