June 28, 2015 Bus Route & Schedule Changes

Wow, an extra turn for the 26, but it's taking them away from where all those buses park (and there's often no room for the stop) next to the McDonalds. I guess they'll share the stop with the 52. (will be slightly closer for me, as I won't have to cross Wyckoff).

I hope the construction of the new apt. building on the little street is finished by then (they're doing the heavy work with the big crane lifting the beams now).

 

Really, they should just use the drop off location provided in the new terminal (So the terminals would all be together, and no one would have to cross the street to transfer). I don't know why they're doing everything but that.

Hey, this is the MTA we're talking about. They would argue costs would increase with this sort of change or some BS. Never was fond of the B52 terminal; it's even more of a PITA to get to the station, despite the fact that it's closer to the entrance.

I think it's for people heading to/from Central Park Precint. I think they could have put machine by police station or on stairs b/c no machines here.

It says that people boarding by police station must get off at CPW/5th Av to obtain a ticket, then reboard the bus. Imigine if there was Eagle Team there gave ticket for no-ticket-zone NYPD Stop.

Well, the SBS service is not adding or getting rid of stops on the route, so that stop apparently already exists?

 

I'm just surprised (or not) about the lack of a stop on Park.

So I assume the M35 is next for +SBS, they're always running SBS buses on it....

The M35 needs SBS about as much as the Resorts World Casino Bus.

 

1) the M35 is short distance, just like the B74 with Stillwell Av as one last stop (Goes to Wards Island back and forth from Harlem-125 St) 

2) As answered, whatever is left over at the depot (MCH), the leftover goes to the M35 (standard or articulated bus)

(*SBS wouldnt be seen on that line, the fare is avoided majority of the time)

I wouldn't think there will be SBS on M35 either because homeless need to get to/from shelter and they don't always have enough money to paid their fare.

All crosstown buses don't stop at Park Av anymore.

The B26 or the Q58, but not both, should be rerouted along Ridgewood Place. There isn't enough room on Palmetto to lay buses over.

 

 

ridgewood place looks like a narrow two way street. why does the mta want 2 bus lines down this block and there is no lay over room. atleast by mcdonald there was some room for the buses to park.

 

if im not mistaken werent they going to reroute this to comply with the disaster known as vision zero, 

 

also isn't the b48 due to have the reroute or another time

I mean going by that logic, they might as well reroute the Q55. Out of that whole Myrtle/Wyckoff/Palmetto intersection, the Q55 has the worst turn to make. That backwards left angle turn from Palmetto onto Myrtle is dangerous.

Guess what I found in Ridgewood today:

Wow; didn't know that was going on today. Passing by later (on the way to the BMT celebration), it was totally quiet, with the usal one or two buses parked there, and I didn't see any using the new route.

That BxM11 change is probably due to people in Pelham Parkway complaining about having that Boston Road/Pelham Parkway South stop removed previously.  The Bronx Zoo stop southbound is an attempt to increase ridership.  Outside of Pelham Parkway, it's likely that people aren't using it as much (can't afford it).
