So what do they have you doing? Data Entry?  Usually get simple tasks to get your feet wet.

Well today was mainly introduction. I'm guessing it will help desk stuff, with more advanced stuff. They told me I will be spending a lot of time in the server room.

lol... That doesn't sound too exciting.  I don't know why but my lunches seemed especially long, which is good thing because time can CRAWL in that place.

As for the pass, I noticed that it doesn't work on MTA Bus Company routes. I had to show my picture ID that's on the pass to the driver. So far, they let me in.

It's only for NYCT local buses and subways.  Nothing else.  Is it still only good Monday through Friday 07:00 - 19:00? That was the deal when I had a (MTA) pass.  We had Friday's off so I had free transit when I would hang out and go pick up my check.

Going home once from 370 Jay I got stuck with the subway and couldn't get home by 19:00.  Was a real mess.  My pass wouldn't work after 19:00 and I had to pay to get home via the bus.

And so concludes the MTA internship for the summer. I am considering applying for the MTA college internship program. I worked on the 9th floor in 2 Broadway. There isn't a lot of office space on that floor. Its pretty much all data centers. I found old data tapes that dates back to 1993.

I've also been to 347 Madison Avenue. The 2nd floor is in ruins. Lots of chairs, tables, boxes, and old computer equipment all over the place. I'm surprised the data centers in that place are still operational.

If you wanna work for them, you might as well apply for it.... When I interned there, so many kids came whenever they felt like it that it was a joke.  It's like listen, you got a free pass to come to work, be paid, and do very little of NOTHING.  Of course these were the types that were more interested in smoking weed rather than coming to work.  I'm sure those youngsters turned out to be outstanding members of society.  Probably the same idiots that petitioned to get $15.00 an hour to make hamburgers...  <_<
