More details on the order including Wfi capablties do you think they would execuse option more if needed I am not sure if 772 buses to replace the old fleet on the rest of garage would be enough. Then again it is good news to replenish the fleet next its those neoplans that need to be repalced with possible the new flyer that intrduced

There are approximately 1400 buses that need to be replaced... of course they're going to exercise the options to bring the order to 1388 buses.

MCI needed this order badly since losing MTA and GO Transit contracts

I know the MTA went with Prevost, but what has GO gone with in place of MCI?

In one of the largest contracts ever, NJT had officially renewed their long lasting partnership with MCI.

The $395 million order for clean diesel, cruiser-style coaches will offer NJ TRANSIT riders three-point seatbelts, comfortable forward-facing seating for 57 passengers, as well as individual airflow controls and reading lights.

The six-year delivery schedule for the new Commuter Coaches will begin in 2016.

The order will replace existing MCI coaches in New Jersey’s fleet.

MCI has delivered over 2,000 Commuter Coaches to the agency since 1982.

NJ TRANSIT was one of the first public transit operators to use the MCI Commuter Coach to reach outlying city and expanding suburban areas.

Buses with seat-belts huh... The only literal/actual use I foresee for them is for securing belongings on the adjacent seat!

You heard it from me first.

That won't be tolerated (on Lakeland at least).

Thing about these longer buses, and I know I've said this before, while you still will be able to put more "butts in seats", the total number of passengers will still be 72 (with 57 seats, and 15 standees) whereas the 40 footers were 49 seats and 23 standees.
