Department of Subways - Proposals/Ideas

Just don't do it. Make a good project, and make it super cheap. Also an (L) crew would find your route a nightmare. They might have to do a 6 hour work shift. They won't really get paid much for it.

oh god you are right; I will redo this but this time have a shuttle going across the bronx and back and then the (12) starting at Harlem Water Drive Thingy (kind of forgot first stop in manhattan name). That will cut out alot of stations.

I decided to take things in a different direction. Instead of making some impossible or unheard of new line (no offense guys), I'm thinking of a skip-stop on the (L). It can be called the K. No extra trains will be needed since the extra trains the (L) uses will be sufficient enough. Here are the station layouts...

6 av

Union Sq

3 av

That is a good idea. If you looked at my posts on the last page you would find out that a gray (K) was proposed to skip stop along with the (L). If this happens the (L), and the (K) can be extended up Tenth Avenue to better serve the West Side, and be extended along the Bay Ridge Branch to create a much needed crosstown Brooklyn line on designated subway tracks on a line capable of carrying 6 tracks with only 2 surviving tracks today.

Why don't just have a crosstown line extension, but not with the (G). Instead create a new subway service using Cemetery Way in Queens, link it to the crosstown line, and run it down till it reaches the vincinity of 23rd Street in Manhattan, have it run in a tunnel across the river, and then send it up Third Avenue to go up to the Bronx.

We Need a Grey K Bullet! Mods?... I requested the (S6) and like it alot.

The (S)-6th Avenue was only a temporarily service to serve the Sixth Avenue Line when the 63rd Street Connector was under construction. There is no need for a (S)-6th Avenue. Plus the gray (K) is a real proposal which everyone believes should be implemented. It's to skip stop with the (L). The (J), and the (Z) has a similar service, and it works.

I know. btw there is an (S6) bullet so there is no need to post (S)-6 Avenue.

okay heres another subway route that has stops that are not too close together & has an express service as well. Runs from 32 Avenue-Clearveiw Expressway, Queens - to - Washington Heights-168 Street, Manhattan. The Line is underground in places where theres not alot of traffic and around LGA Airport In Queens and is elevated otherwise (except for 167 Street tunnel between Odgen Avenue & Harlem River Drive). Bullet: Indigo (W)

once again, Express stops in Red & Local In green.

01) Clearveiw Expressway Via 32 Avenue

02) Francis Lewis Blvd

03) 164-163 Streets

04) 154 Street

05) 149 Street

06) Parsons Blvd

07) 137 Street

08) College Point Blvd

##) Terminal B

##) Terminal C

##) LGA Airport-Central Term

Loops Back To Central Term, Makes very sharp curve stop after that Terminal A.

**************************Back To Main Route**************************

12) 102-103 Streets Runs Via Astoria Blvd

13) 94 Street

14) 87-88 Streets

18) Steinway Street

19) 31 Street Walk to (N)(W)

20) 21 Street Via Hell Gate Bridge

21) Wards Island Park

22) NYC Dep of Fire Training Building (I thought it would be a great idea so when people leave the place they can just take the subway to go to the bronx or go to queens and get on the (N)(Q) @ Astoria/Ditmars Blvd).

23) Randall's Island Golf Center

24) East 132 Street <Bronx>

25) Bruckner Blvd-E 135 Street

30) Leggett Avenue-Barry Street

31) Randall Avenue-Tiffany Street

32) Randall Avenue-Faile Street Turns onto Hunters Point Avenue

33) Lafayette Avenue

34) E 163 Street-Bruckner Blvd Hunts Pt Ave (6)

38) 3 Avenue

39) Webster Avenue

40) Morris Avenue

41) 167 Street-Grand Concourse 167 Street (:)(D)

43) Ogden Avenue

44) Harlem River Drive

45) Amsterdam Avenue

46) Washington Heights-168 Street (A)(C)(1)(9)TERMINAL

Its only 46 stops, (I think) how many the (2) has. There is a spur track that connects to the (A) and goes to 207 Street yard where the line gets its trains from. There is another spur track that runs connecting up the (C) @ 168 Street. Im someday planning to make a BVE route out of my fictional routes.

That is possible, and could be operated in within three hours. The only problem is the free track on the Hell Gate Bridge is just one alone. Every other one is used by railroads. So your (W) would be bi directional on the Bridge.

Yes, so Im thinking of just putting a tunnel there (I cant edit the post (?)).

Not a Create Your Own Subway Route, but an extension idea of mine. (F) extended from Jamaica-179th Street to Hollis-188th Street.

The station would extend from 188th Street to 190th Street on Hillside Avenue with access at 188th and 190th giving Hollis her very first-ever subway station.

I've got some more ideas

*Finish the Archer Avenue Subway

*Create a LaGuardia Airport (S) that would run from Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard to Mets-Willets Point.

*Extend the (2), and (5) from Flatbush Avenue to Brighton Beach which was originally intended.

*Create the Utica Avenue Subway, and extend it onto the current Rockaway Park (S) ROW.

*Off topic, but I would create a First Avenue Light Rail that would run from Moshulu Parkway (4) to 4th Avenue-9th Street (R), (F).

I actually have this idea I didn't mention yet. Why don't we just extend the (6) to Secaucus instead. It goes through the same places as the (7) does, and would do the same job as the (7). The only difference is you could send the (7) farther into Eastern Queens (Bayside) which isn't served, but if they ever do that then the (7) would be too long, but you can't extend the (6) anywhere. It's also a local like the (7), and thus it would be possible to send the (6) from Brooklyn Bridge to Secaucus via Hoboken. Or you could make the (5) local, and make the <6> an (8), and it can run as the Lexington Avenue Express alongside the (6) which is still local, but it's the best option besides the (7).

Among other things, the (7) will (once the current west side extension is finished) have a terminal very close to the Hudson, making it easy to extend under the river. The (6) terminates far from the Hudson and would require massive construction in a very densely built area just to reach the Hudson. Extending the (6) would easily cost five times as much as extending the (7).
