MysteriousBtrain Posted April 22, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 22, 2016 Nice. Was this part of a NYTM tour?
GojiMet86 Posted April 22, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted April 22, 2016 Well, the title of the thread kinda does say "The New York Transit Museum Tour of Grand Avenue Depot".
MysteriousBtrain Posted April 22, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 22, 2016 Yeah, I forgot I read the title...... stupid me lol Anyways, yeah, great coverage. Maybe I'll sign up for one of these tours one day.
Around the Horn Posted April 22, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 22, 2016 I had no idea they did tours of CMFs. I'll have to keep an eye out on the TM schedule. Do you have to be member to go on the tour? We had a family membership but that expired years ago...
The TransitMan Posted April 23, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 23, 2016 That's funny. I went on that same exact tour with the Transit Museum 8 years ago (when Grand Av Depot first opened) and we were NOT allowed to take pictures inside...at all. We were ALL bummed out. Only pictures we were allowed to take were on the apron. The reason "This is a State-of-the-art Depot". Nice pictures though.
TheNewYorkElevated Posted April 23, 2016 Share #7 Posted April 23, 2016 Great pictures and video! BTW, anybody noticed a well known railfan here in one of the pictures? I have.
Autocar Posted April 25, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2016 Beautiful photos. I agree 5227 looks great. Anybody know what 2969 is doing there ? Does the Mr. Gleason's bus have a problem ?
GojiMet86 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted April 26, 2016 The tour is open for the public. What is not open (and thus only for Museum members) are the IRT City Hall tours and the subway yard tours.
