TransitJusticeForAll Posted May 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 26, 2016 Introducing the 2016 New Flyer XD60 Xcelsior, now available at the JFK & Baisely Park Depots. These new breed scheme buses are the future of the MTA. Now on the Q10 and later fully on the Q111/113/114 routes in July. 2,042 of the babies will be delivered all the way till 2020. From last week, until now, I caught full new artic action on Lefferts and Brewer Blvds. I rode in bus #5381 and the moment you step inside that bus, you have entered BUS HEAVEN! The Wi-Fi and USB Ports are beautiful. I had an amazing time catching these buses serve all Q10 corridors as well as Brewer Blvd. Photos and Videos are below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGbcaV92Cjg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJI8s3fjx1s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tqhDkbVpgo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNlVFIon0js https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQE7yJkvwlw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vXLPQtvPEA Please take time to view and comment on my previous post!: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/49094-extreme-shuttle-bus-action-february-to-may-2016-celebrating-1-year-annerversary-on-the-forums/ Please Enjoy! TransitJusticeForAll Posted May 27, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted May 27, 2016 I wonder how they clean the buses with the wrapping though... They actually delivered the buses bare naked, and then it's wrapped in colors that we see today.
Jdog14 Posted May 27, 2016 Share #5 Posted May 27, 2016 I wonder how they clean the buses with the wrapping though... The same way they clean the current SBS vehicles.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted May 27, 2016 Share #6 Posted May 27, 2016 The same way they clean the current SBS vehicles. And how is that? Some buses are hand-washed. They hand-wash the buses at Yonkers, but those buses aren't wrapped and are MCIs. I assume the others (wrapped or not) go through the washing facility at the depot. Via Garibaldi 8 Posted May 28, 2016 Share #8 Posted May 28, 2016 Most likely the bus wash in the depot. I asked because it is only wrapping, so I was wondering if putting them through the wash at the depot would destroy the wrapping. When buses get scrapes on the side, you can see the wrapping coming off. Those Bx12SBS buses take a serious beating. The wrapping seems to hold well, though it isn't that thick. That is to say if they don't constantly rewrap them lol
Cait Sith Posted May 28, 2016 Share #10 Posted May 28, 2016 Only the first 5-10 buses are wrapped. The rest will be painted.

chenvinny54 Posted June 7, 2016 Share #13 Posted June 7, 2016 Or imagine this proposal, we can build the q10 bus to select bus service, taking the customers to airport quicker than limited. So, their trip to JFK will be around 20% quicker. So keep the airport decoration, and add some words so that it shows Select Bus Service.
