In your e-mail, state your full name, exam number, list number, the last four of your social security number, and a brief reason why you're restoring your name to the list. You don't have to go into full detail in the e-mail.

Good luck!!

According to this page, the filing/application period will be from May 5th to May 23rd. For those of you who are curious as far as what the Notice of Examination (NOE) might contain, I would encourage you to view the NOE for B/O Exam 2613 & B/O Exam 4600. There are many similarities between these two NOE, respectively.

Happy Posting!!

I read your story from one of the other threads about how you had to wait 5 years or so before you'll get another chance at the job. I'm wondering are you going to take this exam? or you're just putting it out there for others to take advantage of...

The answer to your question is both. Just like with the Lottery, I don't know what's going to happen in 2019, and "you have to be in it to win it."

Second, as an FYI for the future, the Notice of Examination for this exam can be found here.

Hi. I'm currently waiting for 6601 (conductor) list to be established. I'm also registered to take this exam and exam 7300.

I paid but never showed up for exam 4600 and kind of regret it.

I usually take the bus at night and talk to a few operators, some from Mabstoa, mta bus, or by nyct

The Mabstoa operators say they have a shortage of drivers, while some other (mta bus) say they aren't, and that it could be a while for me to get called 2-3 years.

They also recommend I take my cdl permit now. I'd it true that there is mediocre demand for drivers

Anecdotally, on Staten Island (where I work out of), Yukon Depot, which is the largest on Staten Island, the latest bus operator hired there was from the 11/14/2016 class. Charleston has received some new folks in the last few months, but I can't quantify that. Not sure about Castleton. So, there appears to be no big need for bus operators (at least on Staten Island) at this time, per my observations.

First, thank you for the input from Staten Island.

If you click here, and look at posts #4776 & 4778, in addition to going back a few pages in the 4600 thread, recently the 4/3/17 class was called back to Zerega to re-pick Depots in Brooklyn, since that is where they were short-handed. In addition, with those Bus Operators retiring, getting a promotion, etc., IMHO, there is always a need for Bus Operators. You just have to be patient, that's all.

Paid my $68 for #7612. Put in for this one, and $61 for #7300. Also going to put in for the next other one, MsBSTOA #7105 opening up on June 9. Plus, taking T/O exam #7604 on 6/11. I figure with all of these, I will get lucky hopefully.

What are some of the main differences between the three (3) different tests? Different authorities I believe but as far as routes...

Click here for the routes. Should be self-explanatory.

As far as the exams (tests) are concerned, for MaBSOTA (7105) and MTA Bus Company (7300), you will receive a random list #. This random list # will become your list #, providing you pass the BOSS (Bus Operator Selection Survey). Long story short: It's a personality test, that's all.

For NYC Transit (7612), since this is civil service, you will take two [2] exams - a civil service exam, which will determine your list #, followed by the BOSS exam. This is the best out of all of them, since you not only will receive a pension from NYCERS, but you'll also be able to take a promotion to Train Operator, compared to MaBSTOA and MTA Bus Company you're not eligible.

However, if you're able to get into MaBSOTA and/or MTA Bus Company first, what's good is that you don't have to repeat the intense 10-day training program again. Therefore, all you have to do at that point is wait for your list number to come up depending on how well you did on the civil service exam, in which you need a score of 70% or higher to pass.

Hi everyone, if the TA doesn't put you on probation for moving from OA to TA, can you take NYCT promotional exams under one year with TA? Thanks.

Definitely!! If anything, I have a friend who, shortly after he qualified for MaBSTOA, used his MTA BSC (Business Service Center) account to apply for this exam (NYCT B/O 7612), and instead of using a credit card to pay the fee, they just took the money out of his paycheck, respectively.

Just like with any other job, the main objective is to get through your probationary year. Once you do so, you're in!!

Hi all, what is the wait for this test?

We'll be called in 2020?

I didn't realize the other 2 would call in people so soon, I would of applied for all 3..

The list for Bus Operator Exam 4600 expires in January of 2020. Depending on the hiring needs of the Department of Buses, there is a chance that people will start to get called from this list in 2019. However, it is way too early to make a prediction. Last I heard they are approximately half-way through the Bus Operator 4600 list, which was published in January of 2016, so we'll see what happens...

Thank you for the quick reply Young.. I had no idea that the other two tests would call people in so quickly. I figured all the tests would be taken on a Saturday and we would have to wait two years to be called. I can't take 3 sick days from my job to take three texts, so I focused on the one test.

If I would've known that there was a possibility of getting called in so quick, I would've taken all the tests..

Sucks for me that they only give you two weeks to decide if you want to take the tests.. I have a CDL too.
