Mtatransit Posted May 5, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 5, 2017 If the DOT can efficiently ignore community opposition, wouldn't it be easy just to ignore those "Queensway Advocate" and START BUILDING? For 1 billion dollars the whole line could be renewed... And a transfer implemented at Rego Park. SBS is a very short term solution...

BreeddekalbL Posted May 5, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 5, 2017 i responded to the queensway article, The Queensway are a bunch of LIARS just like NYCLASS pushing for the horseban I can debunk a few of their arguements 1. there is no new ROW which will be built there is existing row which will merge into the train. The right of way RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO TRAINS! 2. Have you ever heard of welded rails? there will be no disturbances because welded rails are quiet, plus if trains 3.I hope you know that several businesses and property owners have illegally expanded their land onto the ROW which means they HAVE TO GIVE UP THE LAND 4. The LIRR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! What makes you so sure it will be LIRR it could be a subway for christ sakes 5. Who cares about the cost, the cost will pay for itself 3 times over with riders and those going to JFK Airport plus it fits in with Cuomo's one seat ride to the airport so what if it is expensive, the people need trains. 6 Stop with your coded racist rhetoric trying to say building the train will bring "people not of our kind" into the area. You know you are lying. plus i added a little troll piece Send all letters in support of the Rockaway Beach branch to here (it's the queensway's p.o box)P.O. Box 150197Kew Gardens, NY 11415 and another one send all letters in support of the RBB to an organization besides the queensway is the Trust for Public Land Trust for public land (new york office) 666 Broadway, New York, NY 10012 that will get Adrian Benepe triggered

First they attributed the increase in safety on Queens Blvd to the lower speed limit that no one adheres to. Now that they want to extend the bike lanes that hardly anyone uses, they are attributing two years of no fatalities to the bike lanes and increased pedestrian space. What increased pedestrian space? Along the malls that no one uses? The reason there are no fatalities is because of the fencing preventing idiots from jaywalking and longer walk cycles for those who were to impatient to wait in the median and ran across the street without looking. It wasn't from the bike lanes. They chastise Koslowitz because she doesn't want to lose a significant 200 parking spaces. The Streetsblog idiots couldn't care if all parking were eliminated because they hate cars and love their bikes. I am commenting here rather than on Streetsblog because they banned me for life exposing the truth about SBS on Woodhaven on their site which they also favor because it hurts car travel. So much for free speech. They only want their side of the story told and to hell with anyone who disagrees with them. Try criticizing them and they will ban you too. BreeddekalbL Posted May 6, 2017 Share #10 Posted May 6, 2017 Unfortunately, there are very powerful people behind Queensway. why the deuce does grace meng even have a say, she is for flushing same with joe crowley his district doesn't even touch the ROW for the RBB
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted May 7, 2017 Share #11 Posted May 7, 2017 and quick question how the deuce does grace meng support it when her district doesn't even touch the RBB? Umm, because Grace Meng's district goes through part of the old LIRR Row? Anyone can endorse the Queensway project. Senator Stavinsky does, and her senate district comes close, but not exactly adjacent to the old LIRR Row.

Senator Stavinsky does, and her senate district comes close, but not exactly adjacent to the old LIRR Row. i understand stavinsky does and according to the map it's like she can say the ROW goes through my backyard etc plus i've mentioned a few such as Koslowitz and Lil hevesi, plus andrew is a chip off the old block like his daddy and i realized Meng's district does, but some of these guys are supporting it have no ties to the district such as joe crowley,
BreeddekalbL Posted May 7, 2017 Share #13 Posted May 7, 2017 Plus does the queensway group even have a plan on being a good neighbor if force their way into building what rightfully belongs to the trains?
Art Vandelay Posted May 8, 2017 Share #14 Posted May 8, 2017 Crowley is the Democratic party chair for Queens County. The RBL ROW is entirely within Queens County.

BrooklynBus Posted May 12, 2017 Author Share #18 Posted May 12, 2017 The LIRR is not the best use for the ROW because it will be $10 a ticket to even get anywhere That is not cast in concrete and always can change.
RR503 Posted May 13, 2017 Share #19 Posted May 13, 2017 Freedom Ticket -- if implemented fully -- will eventually lower city fares to $6.50, so as said above, things can change
