Report: MTA Ignoring Abysmal On-Time Performance

Recommended Posts

Quite sure some of you remember the old televisions with the UHF & VHF dials on em.... Yep yep, you could turn the dial & click click click click click to your heart's content on the UHF one.... No signal.... Tried banging on the television, tried adjusting the antenna, tried fiddling with the aluminum foil tips on the antenna (yes, you had those on the antenna too, so don't front... Lol), nada..... No matter how diligent you were with what you tried doing, you kept getting this shit:

There's even a name for this torture.... It's called White noise.

Well that's what that "train traffic ahead of us....." announcement resembles AFAIC....  It literally means nothing to me....

I'm somewhat surprised that you have any amount of passengers really caring why the train they're on has been held to a standstill.... I personally always saw that announcement in particular as a pacification method... I don't want my intelligence being insulted, I don't want to be pacified, I don't want my level of frustration being Amplified upon hearing that announcement.... I just want to get moving....

....and so do millions of other passengers that take the subway.... Or so I would think.

Anyway, of course they're going to ignore OTP; I'd argue that they have no choice at this point.....  Alle hagelin die U-Bahn !!!!

The very people utilizing the subway are always somehow wrong, or embellish their assessments of their own day to day travels, while it's put out there that this great agency has it under control - like any good captain..... The MTA is many things, but I can't accuse them of not being the captain going down with its ship..... Even if they like to feign stupid on a lot of issues....

You had plastic dials and aluminum foil antennas? I had pliers and a wire hangar with a ball of foil on a 8-inch black and white TV.

Not aluminum foil antennas, antennas with aluminum foil placed at the tips; the same thing you're talking about with the ball of foil....

Anyway, yeah, the TV my father had (found), had no dials... Used those locking pliers to turn the channels.... Had the antennas with the aluminum foil tips....

Yeah, anyway you slice it, the struggle was real.....
