IAlam Posted June 22, 2017 Share #26 Posted June 22, 2017 Seems awfully suspicious if you ask me. They bring this up now but not a month before. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app It sem as if Amtrak is firing back, I mean I'm not surprised since they've become the scapegoat in all this. Via Garibaldi 8 Posted June 22, 2017 Share #29 Posted June 22, 2017 The does not want to pay the bill for giving those discounts to LIRR riders, so they're trying to pass the buck on to Amtrak. If they give subway riders a discount, I wonder how they'll absorb that...
Mtatransit Posted June 22, 2017 Share #30 Posted June 22, 2017 LIRR don't have to pay, sure... Then THEY should find the repairs at Penn Station... This makes no sense at all. Blaming it all on Amtrak, this is nothing but a political gain for our POS Governor
IAlam Posted July 15, 2017 Share #31 Posted July 15, 2017 So bus service isn't doing so hot ... but it seems that normal tickets are being accepted on the bus.
lirr42 Posted July 17, 2017 Share #32 Posted July 17, 2017 I doubt they'll win anything. LIRR doesn't guarantee anything but a ride and they "cannot assume responsibility for inconvenience, expense or damage resulting from errors in timetables, delayed trains, failure to make connections or for changes in or shortages of equipment" so I don't know what they could possibly say the LIRR didn't do or did incorrectly. The responsibility disclaimer does complicate their case, but in no way invalidates it. Just because the LIRR says they're not responsible it doesn't mean those few sentences absolve them of any potential guilt. If I put a sign on the door to my office that says I can't assume responsibility for any inconvenience, expense or damage resulting from me shooting you in the foot, and then I shoot you in the foot, am I now free of any responsibility, because I had the sign on the door? FamousNYLover Posted July 19, 2017 Share #33 Posted July 19, 2017 NICE Bus offered former Rockville Centre Bus Depot to use for LIRR Park & Ride Shuttle Buses. I went to Glen Cove to try out n27 extention to Glen Cove Ferry Terminal, but 6:01pm n27 Hempstead Bus went to ferry first before coming to pick us up at Glen Cove Police Station.
