Union Tpke Posted August 31, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 31, 2017 These were seen at the Q37's terminal in Kew Gardens. IMG_9414 by Union Turnpike, on FlickrIMG_9413 by Union Turnpike, on Flickr
RES2773 Posted August 31, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2017 I don't think it'll be much of an issue. If the riders aren't there for it, service won't stay that way. Plus, even without direct service it's in walking distance still. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MysteriousBtrain Posted September 1, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2017 Just nitpicking but I wonder why it WAS not called Q37A?
Cait Sith Posted September 1, 2017 Share #4 Posted September 1, 2017 Just nitpicking but I wonder why it WAS not called Q37A? I'm assuming they are using the same logic like the x10, x10 being the main route and the x10B being the West Side route.
B22viaAtlanticAv Posted September 1, 2017 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2017 Just nitpicking but I wonder why it WAS not called Q37A? IDK but some might think the Q37A is going to (Aqueduct) while the proposed the Q37B (Bypass Aqueduct).see what I think the MTA did there... Q43LTD Posted September 1, 2017 Share #6 Posted September 1, 2017 Could just not have this Q37B and just look at the sign. Just my take
Gotham Bus Co. Posted September 1, 2017 Share #7 Posted September 1, 2017 Just nitpicking but I wonder why it WAS not called Q37A? I would have used Q37A for the Aqueduct trips and kept Q37 for the bypass trips.
MysteriousBtrain Posted September 1, 2017 Share #8 Posted September 1, 2017 I would have used Q37A for the Aqueduct trips and kept Q37 for the bypass trips.Yeah that's what I was thinking too, especially since I'm pretty sure that the Q37B would likely run more often than the Q37. Either that or just keep the label the same.
Cait Sith Posted September 1, 2017 Share #9 Posted September 1, 2017 Yeah that's what I was thinking too, especially since I'm pretty sure that the Q37B would likely run more often than the Q37. Either that or just keep the label the same. Not that much often.
Novabus 5000 Posted September 1, 2017 Share #10 Posted September 1, 2017 This is correct. This was taken yesterday morning showing the new signs.
danielhg121 Posted September 1, 2017 Share #11 Posted September 1, 2017 This is correct. This was taken yesterday morning showing the new signs. Why does he have the new sign up if the service change doesn’t start till Sept 3? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
B35 via Church Posted September 2, 2017 Share #12 Posted September 2, 2017 Literally, on the destination sign - "Bypass Aqueduct".... smmfh.... Anyway: Why does he have the new sign up if the service change doesn’t start till Sept 3? Every Q37 trip never served the casino to begin with (which is what I find funny with this Q37b bit)..... What they're trying to convey is that there'll be less trips during the span (which varies, depending on which direction you're traveling) with which every Q37 serves the casino..... The way I see it, it's immaterial if he has the Q37B signage up... It's one of the morning trips that isn't stopping in there anyway
Gotham Bus Co. Posted September 2, 2017 Share #13 Posted September 2, 2017 Literally, on the destination sign - "Bypass Aqueduct".... smmfh.... The destination sign says where the bus doesn't go.
Q43LTD Posted September 2, 2017 Share #14 Posted September 2, 2017 That "Aqueduct Bypass" signage is unnecessary. Who wants to bet eventually it will be alternating 37's not serving the Casino.
B35 via Church Posted September 2, 2017 Share #15 Posted September 2, 2017 The destination sign says where the bus doesn't go Yeah.... and what, pray tell, gave you the impression the opposite was being conveyed? Or is this some sort of a defense of yours of the MTA with this move..... Regardless, you run the risk of having more people board the bus (that are seeking some specific destination) by putting the destination on the destination sign in any facet.... Generally speaking, the MTA's been improving with the info. shown on the destination signs - spelling entire words out & doing away with the myriad of abbreviations & what not..... However, this bypass aqueduct bit is unnecessary; and I see it being rather counter-productive on top of it.... The point of a destination sign is supposed to reflect where the bus is going, not where the bus is not going.... That "Aqueduct Bypass" signage is unnecessary. Who wants to bet eventually it will be alternating 37's not serving the Casino. I'm betting that's the minimum.... I'm expecting there's gonna be significantly more "37B's" than "37's" throughout the core of the day (meaning, not including the trips in the morning that already doesn't stop at the casino).... RES2773 Posted September 2, 2017 Share #16 Posted September 2, 2017 On a related note, this will mark the first change in the Queens bus map since January. I think that change was only to include SAS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
checkmatechamp13 Posted September 5, 2017 Share #17 Posted September 5, 2017 Agreed. All you need is for the regular Q37 buses to say "via Aqueduct"
