Im a newbie here but i've been reading on these forums for a while now...and I know that many are excited about getting their preliminary scores for the lastest conductor exam #8094..as you should be. However word of warning..its going to be a lengthy process !!! You wont even recieve your official results until around December 09'. Thats a year in itself.

I took the Conductor exam #8014 back in February of 04'. I scored a 94..and im STILL waiting ! Its now February of 09'. Lol. My list number is in the 3000s and my list doesnt close until I believe August of this year..and again I took the exam in 04'. I've called for updates and im still on the list..and if I heard correctly im still in lined to get called (keeping fingers crossed)..before the list is closed.

I know things may be different for this exam but and things may go quicker this time around. But just a word of warning from someone who is patiently waiting with a pretty high score myself...sit back because u may be waiting a while. I figured maybe 2-3yrs..and I know others feel the same way..but its already been 5 for me..so its definitely a lengthy process.

Yea that gives u a score of 89. I got 3 wrong..that leaves me around 95..not real soothing for me since I got a 94 last exam lol. Maybe they'll need more C/R's in the future which will help me out. Definitely fustrating getting that high and possibly not ever getting called. I've read on here that people have taken the B/O exam and got way more wrong and their list # is extremely high. Just tells u how many people take the C/R and T/O exams. I wonder how the vote that was just passed will effect those of us on MTA certified lists if at all

I got one wrong, so I should be around 98-99.

How do you know what you got wrong? They give you back the questions and answers?

When you take the exam they let you write down your answers, then a month after the exam, they release the proposed answer key so you can check how many you got right or wrong. Then a year after the exam, they finalize the answer key and give everyone their scores and their list number.

Lol ! Yea I feel yea. And there seems to have either been a freeze or a lack of "need" because when I check the the list for the last # called..dcas has been on that same # for the past 2-3 months at least. Maybe there will be a lot of hiring from the next exam..and ill have better luck with that one

Hey guys,

I am sorry to burst anyones bubble but it will be impossible to get called for C/R for exam 8094 unless you scored at least 96 or higher. I know it sucks but its so competetive that you need a list # in the first 2500 to make it in. I was on the last list and I scored a 91 and my list # was in the 6000's . The rankings are based on your score and SS# not filing date.

So you know better than all the MTA employees on this board that have stated that the tie breakers for equal scores is the filing date? Sorry, I'll go with that they say. Sounds like someone is simply trying to thin the heard.

Your SS# has nothing to do with anything. If your list number isn't in the first 2500 you don't deserve to get hired in my opinion.

Y2 I got that information from DCAS the administrator of the exams they said its based on the last 5 of your ss# thats what they told me not your file date.

Half those people that work for DCAS give wrong info and tell you anything to get you off the phone. Civil service exams are about giving everyone an equal footing in getting Civil Service jobs, doing it by Social Security makes no sense since the last four digits of your Social Security number run consecutively from 0001 through 9999.

That's not entirely accurate. After speaking with a friend who works within the HR department at Transit and has a great deal of experience working with DCAS and civil service exams and lists, I was informed that the last four or five digits of the SS#'s for those on the list with equal scores does, in fact, make the difference on certain lists. Called a "tie band," equal scores are listed in numerical order on the civil service list. For example, if the last four of Julio's SS# are 1234 and mine are 2345, and we have both received scores of 98.75, Julio's list number would be lower than mine (55 for Julio vs. 56 for me).

However, here is the catch: tie bands are generally used only for exams scored on a composite of education and experience rather than an actual test. T/O is not one of those exams, and therefore, a tie band may not be used. This person was unsure at this time how DCAS will list those with equal scores for the most recently-administered exams. I will post more information as I gather it. A test like T/O with thousands of candidates is bound to have many people with equal scores, and it would be nice to know what determines where those scores are placed on the list.

Well since ur list # can involve much more then ur score I wouldnt necessarily say that. I got a 94 and my list # was in the 3000s...and other people with the same exact score..had list #s in the high 2000s

SSN does not matter as far as your list #.

The only things that matter:

-Your score

-When you filed.

Erica gets a 98 and filed the second day 4PM.

Alex gets a 100 and filed the fourth day 6PM.

Chris gets a 99 and filed the third day 9AM.

Brian gets a 99 and filed the first day 1PM.

David gets a 99 and filed the third day 2PM.

List:

1-Alex

2-Brian

3-Chris

4-David

5-Erica

got it?
