  1. Past hour
  2. Bingo never put all of ones eggs in one basket especially with anything transit related...
  3. If you’re interested, 3807 is back at JFK and on the Q8 as of this morning.
  4. Today
  5. I see. The Main Street one is turned on today I saw it when heading or work today 4-24-24. Yesterday 4-23-24 when I got to Main street and head home I saw the MTA contractors was working on the machine probably to turn it on and see if everything is working. Looks like the OMNY machines are finally rolling. BTW it is scheduled to be completed in 2025. I went to OMNY.info and it says "OMNY rollout completion 2025 The rollout of OMNY will occur in phases until OMNY is available everywhere for everyone." Here are the "active" OMNY vending machines that are available: https://new.mta.info/article/introducing-omny-vending-machines
  6. There was also one put in at Wall St (2)(3) a while back. Not sure if it's turned on yet.
  7. Thats basicly why i said in the post above about sending the 123 to jsq if the JSQ term requires two njt services to PABT and have the 119 skip it cause of what you mention....Only reason the 123 got extended to the hospital was because they took the 119 off of palisades..Back in the day when it ran as the 99S under drogin It had a couple of peak express buses cause of the ridership....By the time some buses reached duncan ave not even jsq its packed and none of the 99S stopped at the terminal either....Those few peak ran all the way down JFK to 32st skipping everything on palisades to the tunnel and vice versa
  8. Does anyone have any details on the $12M improvement in local and express bus service that was approved as part of the state budget this past weekend? I couldn't find much on the specific improvements that are coming.
  9. I forgot that service pattern even existed, good lord. NJT needs to stop with having thousands of variations for a route. Especially since that Hamilton Park branch is barely used and could instead be served by the 123.
  10. this is the way I see it, the / and the will need replacements for their r46s, and if they give new techs to the , those 68s would get transferred to CIY to replace them. However there wont be enough of them to cover all 3 lines, hence where the r68/68a trains would be enough to fully cover the rest and then some and since its based out of CIY they can use those cars as spares for broadway service if need be
  11. Here is how I see it: The B is the independent line, not part of another line like the W and Z, with the shortest service time. Out of a 168 week, it only runs about 85 hours. Roughly 17 hours a day,Monday through Friday. yes there is our behind the scenes stuff, but I’m just talking about passenger service. I don’t think putting brand new trains on a line where they will be idle for half the time makes much sense. Sure, the C goes to bed at night, but it works weekends… The B doesn’t.
  12. @B35 via Church What are your thoughts on extending your proposed Hamilton Park #123 branch to Newport Mall (and running the resultant branch full-time)? And then turn the #86 into an Exchange Place - Union City route. @BM5 via Woodhaven Yeah I would definitely agree with testing out a #119X (with the way you have it set up, it could also potentially take the Holland Tunnel if there were issues at the Lincoln Tunnel).
  13. The Yankee specials use equipment and half of them run to WTC via 8th ave. In most cases the does get suspended but there are times during special events and Baseball season where they run special service using mostly equipment from the and half of those services use 8th ave. It's best they both get techs anyway and there are times where there are GOs where the goes via 8th ave so it's not just Culver.
  14. I think those 8 car set of R179's on C will go to East New York Yard.
  15. Speaking of X trips, I really do think they should try their hand with a 119X. That trip down to Bayonne can be brutal even outside the rush hour, I can only imagine how much worse it gets during rush hours. Plus I do think there's ridership to support such a service Way I would do it is basically all stops south of Sip Avenue along JFK Boulevard, then express to/from Manhattan (no JSQ). That could mean take Tonnelle Avenue to NJ-495 between New York and Jersey City. Given that they already have short-turns to/from JFK Boulevard & 61st Street that shouldn't be too much of an issue (especially since inbound buses are pick-up only). Perhaps it can start off as a weekday rush hour type of thing, and then expand as necessary.
  16. I like your idea of the 123"X" Express peak period only with inbound local pickups/ drop offs ending at Congress Street then express to PABT and vice versa
  17. I think 7301 was only at Fresh Pond only to fix the parking brake
  18. Looking forward to seeing more r211's on the C. Now that the M is fully restored, I find it pretty annoying to see so many r46's running on the C. Hopefully the C can keep their 8 car r179's until option 1.
  19. Yeah, the #125 runs like crap, but length isn't the reason why I wouldn't bother running the #123 to JSQ... @BreeddekalbL's "random thought" there appears to be rather implicative of having the #123 take the place of the #119 running inside JSQ, which I can't concur with.... I'd kill two birds with 1 stone here, because I never cared for the #126 running past Hoboken to serve that pocket of Jersey City at/around Hamilton Park.... I can side with the general idea of running the #123 to Exchange Place, but during peak hours (peak direction), I'd divvy up trips between 1] short turning at Congress st. HBLR, 2] terminating at Hamilton Park (less total trips serving it than the current #126), and 3] terminating at Exchange Place - however, peak trips to/from Exchange place would be all 'X" trips (inbound trips would run straight to PABT after Congress st, outbound trips would have Congress st. be the first stop after leaving PABT).... All other times, no service to Hamilton Park, but I would still have a significant enough an amount of trips short turning at Congress st. HBLR.... You mean like the current #126 from Hoboken & the current #119 & #125 from JSQ?
  20. I thought it would return to the Pond because the OP broke the parking brake. But wow, that was fast.
  21. 4186: at JFK is retired and currently served as a parts bus for their current Next Generation fleet.
  22. ......so anyways, we have new arrivals, 4237-39 at SBK and 4235-36 inbound by morning.
