  3. They somehow traveled cross country on multiple freight trains all the way to New Jersey without anyone spotting them? I find that highly unlikely... That would be quite the feat to pull off.

  4. That's normal, the decals get applied at the vendor(s). 9724(if this was already reported, disregard), 9739, 9750, 9752, 9773 assigned to Manhattanville, currently in NJ. And up to 9590 is built.

  9. For anyone interested. I just rolled into 180 for my pre-employment. There's not to many people here. Covid restrictions are being heavily enforced. Let's see how this goes.

  10. Right? I'm starting to get annoyed with these premieres. They're subway cars, not the movie debut of Black Widow...

  11. What happens on Tweet Twott doesn’t count for the entire story. That’s just hearsay. The L has 5 stops in Manhattan and 20 in Brooklyn. Even though the is CBTC, which has them run frequently with good communication from the lights, 25 stop One Person Train Operation on that line is not supportive. The has more volume at all times of the night. Then there is safety: 1) what happens if the passenger gets robbed on the last car of an 8 car train? The operator has to walk all the way to the last car to see the incident, delaying service. Especially in a dangerous sections of Brooklyn. 2) something happens or a fire breaks out? And there is only one personal there. Cameras won’t solve issues on the line unless there is an uniformed NYPD officer in it.

  12. I mentioned that previously to the , but they overlooked it again. They clearly did not double check these before issuing them. The issues that were fixed were the following, which are far more important: BM2, BxM4 and BxM7 did not have the stops listed anywhere. That has been fixed. X27/X37, X28/X38 did not have the X37 and X38 schedules. That has been fixed. The BxM7 time point at 87th and 3rd has been fixed from Bay Ridge to the Upper East Side. I'll take all of those changes. We'll get that one (the local service one) looked at at a later point.

  13. In bold. Are going to MCH. 9564-9566 are already there. The others are not there yet. However, are to be assigned there.

  14. Apparently there are a bunch of new LFS hybrids that have already been built (without decals). It looks like the ones that do have decals are 9700, 9739, 9752 (which are all likely going to be assigned to Manhattanville). As for the XDE40s, in addition to 9564-9566, 9562-9563, 9568-9570 are built as well (just not assigned to a depot).

  15. I laughed because it was posted already and he approved the original post, then goes on and posts it again. Everyone else just followed me. That's my way of replying without commenting anything irrelevant to an actual move.

  17. Yes, it was reconfigured to the present in the 90's Also, while this wasn't built for SAS; there were often ideas of using it as a cheaper alternative to the new line continuing below Delancey.

  18. Its most likely to the fact that the move was already reported a few days ago. That being said, the repeat post didn't warrant any funny reactions unless there's some inside joke that is being lost on many.

  19. It has to be approved by a superintendent and to be honest, it very likely will not be approved. Train operator is a safety sensitive title and rest is super top priority. U gonna be waking around these yards and trains so much u not gonna want to even study which u will have to. I doubt you will have energy for a part time job.

  25. I mean... you can control when a video goes live without it being a premier. You don't have to make us watch that same STUPID countdown clock and actually sit through the video to see everything.

  26. The trend seems to be people taking the really early buses and then others taking later, off-peak buses. That's the work crowd. The traditional peak trips, some are still crowded, but it's a mix. I took one peak bus last week. It was not nearly as crowded as it normally was in the past. Jumping around a lot because I am still working from home, but come into the office when I need to and the times always vary. Trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. Coming home though, I think traffic has generally been terrible during rush hour, so I avoid that entirely.

  27. Most of Jamaica's problems stem from it's horrible layout, sharp turns, trains crossing over trains each other, skip stop being shortened more and more without any real replacement for the service, missing that transfer.. The best way to deinterline that is just rebuilding it piece by piece: Add in a flying junction at Myrtle Av (on the Westbound side) and consolidate Hewes and Flushing to make a transfer at Union, make a Jamaica line or bypass. It really just needs to be its own project. And they need to lengthen all the stations. Jamaica needs serious remodeling, it limits the train and subsequently the Queens Blvd Line. I'd be down to take the off and run it to 96th St and just have trains run local and trains run express (via 63) can also be express, with trains on the CPW Local. DeKalb you just needs Brighton Express and Local, Sea Beach, West End, 95th-Astoria, Eliminate the .

  31. 90% of bikes are a problem right now, e-bike or not. The complete disregard for rules of the road is a serious problem, there's a tiktok guy who lives in NYC and records him self screaming and cursing at old people, tourists, buses, other bikes for no reason, even when the opposing party isn't at fault. That's the mentality in NYC right now.

  32. E bikes is now the biggest problem. They don't even slow down for a red light and boast right through? Last week I was in Astoria and the light turned green after a five second delay to let pedestrians get a head start. When it turned green, about three seconds after I hit the accelerator, I had to slam on the break to let an e-bike pass. That means he didn't go through the red a second after it turned red which wouldn't have been so bad, but about 8 to 10 seconds after it turned red, because I think I was second in line to go across the street. A few weeks before, I had to stop on a green signal to let 12 bikes go on a red light.

  33. I was wondering where this thread went! Thought it got deleted. Twitter is hilarious right now regarding bike lanes being built. While both sides have good reasons, I do have to side with the drivers. Bikes not sharing the road is becoming a serious problem in the city, and there seems to be no enforcement.

  36. I use my phone (Android, no case) in coffee shops, Whole Foods, and just about everywhere else where contactless payments are accepted with no issue. Most of the places use Square for payment, so that is pretty much good with everything contactless I use (cards, phone, etc.). It's only OMNY that I have issues with, so I just use contactless cards now. I do have Apple devices, but not an iPhone, but even so, I hear other people with iPhones have the same issues I do so it is definitely a OMNY issue. It must have communication problems that the contactless cards don't. I may get an iPhone for the hell of it though for another phone line and test it out. As for a physical OMNY contactless card, that is coming. I just posted in my advocacy group about WageWorks and TransitChek as well the other day. It appears that a rollout is or will happen soon depending on who your employer uses, so I would definitely inquire. The plan is to ramp up as we go along. The unlimited passes and all of that will come soon too. If it weren't for COVID, we would be further along, but that's why things are delayed. I just had a few contactless cards sent to me by the card issuers and I have a few I have linked to OMNY, this way I can track everything, and if one malfunctions, which happened to me earlier on with OMNY, I have the card issuer send out a new card immediately.
