How? The C runs completely below ground.

The NYPD needs to harshly penalize these teens (and their parents) who are involved in vandalism and/or subway surfing.

You must have forget the back of the train exists...

Wait, wait, wait. I'm straight up confused. It went into service and got taken out why? Was it time to go to Pit? Problems already? Like damn, it's been only 1 day.

Bare in mind they start laying up trains early in the evening aswell as not all crews are trained yet.

Between 2010-2016, was it really necessary to have the (N) run local in Manhattan at all times? It seems like it was a continuous problem having to switch back and forth between the express and local tracks at Canal St and again at 57th St with the (Q).

I don't think the MTA wants to leave Broadway local with just one service. I've been on packed W trains even when we were riding the ass of the R train

There is a huge opportunity to design this at a depth where it can continue under the Hudson to NJ.

Any geology experts here? What are the soil conditions and bathymetry like between 125th/Broadway and Edgewater NJ Tunnel Portal (388 Old River Rd, Edgewater, NJ 07020)? What depth would the Broadway station need to be in order to continue west to NJ?

This line has no business going to jersey. It would be the most logical to send it to the Bronx

The B25 would to an certain extent Id say around the pm hours is when the route picks up with heavy so maybe 1-3 artics would do it. But it does fine for the most part. But the routes I'd say should really use artics from ENY is the B12,B15,B42,B82/SBS and B83. Those are my personal thoughts on what routes should use artics they all pick up heavily especially that B12 and can definitely benefit if they had some on the route as they all pick up during the AM and PM hours, I'd also throw in the Q24 and Q56 as those routes can pick up as well.

I'm going to go completely against this and say none of them really need artics but rather, the rather the service needs to run as scheduled. Pre 2018 you could say the B35 also needed artics, now they got artics and the route is still bad cause of missing runs.

That makes no sense considering LGA needs loans from Stengel and those xcelsiors aren't leaving Stengel... There is really no point whatsoever...

You are correct about this. However, from what I've seen, it looks like Jamaica doesn't have enough XD40s to train so they use 2019 XD40s from Grand Avenue (especially 7825) and the select bus service XD40s from ENY (especially 7661 and 7663). At some points, I've seen them using Fresh Pond buses and XN40s from Gleason. I don't exactly know if the DOB wants to make operations more efficient.

That went right out the window with the order for MTA bus XD40.

Was an R211 tagged today?  I was getting on the A at 181st and there was a notice about delays NB due to a train being taken out of service at Euclid due to vandalism.    It could be something else but I have that feeling.

Kids like to kick the glass to the cab doors in. Happens all the time on the N Q an D.

I don't think the general public cares that much, they just want reliable service and decent A/C, which from the public POV, the 75 FT cars offers. As an passenger (not a railfan) what is their to complain about in regards to the older cars in the B div. In regards to the equipment in the current fleet overall, only thing riders complain about AFAIK is is the frequent hot cars on the (1) and (6) lines.

Door problems are very frequent on the R46s. Atleast one or two a day will occur somewhere in the system on just those alone.

We already pay bills just to let the government fund these buses so imagine them adding money to our bills because of that. So I think they should use the money that we’re using currently to help the government fund the buses and not add more.

Doesn't matter. The current money used is only funding the current service. More service (or in this case more cost cause there is zero fare collection) means more money.

This will be interesting I like that’s they did it one route per borough. I hope they won’t try to take money out of peoples bills and rent I don’t think they’ll though.

How else do you think this will be paid for? Nothing is free.

I've noticed that they've started installing the new clever radios on the Bronx buses. Are they doing it borough by borough?

They had the radios installed on many brooklyn buses for some time but not every bus.

What the hell is the use of $7 express buses just to go from another borough to manhattan this will decrease ridership on these buses and more subway fare evasion will be encouraged if any thing they should do what bee-line is doing by making there buses fare-free in the summer this could really help mta or even decrease pricing and the sad part is this can effect Bee-line and Nice if you rely on Bee-line's Bxm4c just hope these fare hikes don't effect the route.

and where is the money gonna come from for these fare free buses that you're talking about? Bee line and NICE have routes operating at best every 15 min. MTA is every 2-4 min in comparison on some routes.

I'm actually surprised that the MTA decided to put the r211's yesterday with all the track work that has been this weekend on the A/C trains.

Still needs to do its in service testing G.O or not. They been running the A/C via the F G.O. at night these past couple of weeks.

We need to be patient with the r211's.

In the meantime, I think that the MTA needs to have a contingency plan with the r46's, which are overused and in bad shape.

All CI r68's should be used on the N/Q during the weekends. No Pitkin/207 r179's should be stored during the weekends. Since ENY got more r179's than originally planned, it would be a good idea for ENY to temporarily loan 3-4 eight car r179's to the C until the pilot plus 2-3 production r211's are in Service.

This plan would allow the worst performing r46's to run less often.

While simultaneously wearing down the other cars because those cars are still needed during the rush hr.

And how do you propose all those rollsigns get changed every weekend to make this work?

I agree with you 100%. It seems that subway service is declining. Too many delays, especially within the last 5 days and the MTA is not informing riders about these delays neither through the website or on the stations.

Today I had to wait 15 minutes for either a northbound B or D train to go the Bronx. It happened about 4:10pm. The D didn't appear on the countdown clock and No information was provided neither on the website or the train station on why northbound BD trains were delayed at that time.

Sorry for the off topic rant, but I don't think it's right that riders have to wait 15 minutes for a train for "no reason", especially if these riders are either rushing to get home from school/work or they are rushing to pick up their kids from school or they are rushing to go to night school.

Going back to the r211's. We all need to be patient. Production trains are being delivered. Therefore, in a matter of weeks we'll be seeing a handful of r211's running on the A.

Some of that is crews missing either conductors or train operators or both. To make matters worse the D in particular has a huge problem with kids vandalizing the trains causing delays. Go anywhere around 79 st during school hrs and you will see the f*ckery ensue.

Glenwood Rd by Flatbush Ave is not very busy until you get on to Flatbush Ave. I am aware that East of Flatbush Ave is very bust but maybe have a small number of short turns at Glenwood Rd because it's severely packed going towards 86th Street.

Not for nothing but the east flatbush/canarsie portion needs the resources more. Bus bunching will always make things worse.

    Yes, I meant that. Sorry.

Not true. They should ride the (A)(C). They are dirtier, the side LEDs usually are not working, the lighting on the inside is worse, and there are no looped stanchions on the (A)(C) I think.

Cosmetic and actual performance are two different things. I've heard over the radio atleast twice now of trains that didn't take power, both coney sets.
