  1. It's been a minute forums but driving past LGA Airport lately I notice it looks like the PANYNJ has brought back some of the 1991 New Flyer D40LFs they use to run, I guess while all the construction goes on. They are in the current Port scheme and a few look like they got new Twinvision signs. Port painted them in the current scheme before retirement, I don't know if they were put in storage and now taken out or if Port got back some of the buses they sold to Golden Touch for the JFK employee shuttles? Golden Touch is not the contractor running them unless things have changed.

Or are these newly purchased D40s?? They did look like the 91s on the outside and the inside that I could see, one of em had no signs at all. These buses have 6V92TAs and that would be something to see back on the road, at least outside JFK...

  2. What's with College Point getting all of these old Staten Island MCIs? Those buses should be scrapped.  I'm familiar with most of these having rode them when I lived on Staten Island, and I pity the passengers that will have to deal with the sunken in seats and nails sticking them in the @ss.  Not a fun ride.

Nails huh Maybe you should get hit by one... You got it good with transit and we all do here in NY so enjoy the ride or GET A CAR

  3. No. n20 still don't have G/H program yet.

Speaking off n20, 13:15 n20G Flushing got stuck on snow pile when I was coming out off Station Branch Library at Great Neck.

Since I had orange reflector vest and since I was expert with helping and directing traffic, while bus driver, supervisior and one resident were plowing snows out from inside the bus. While they were during the snow removal, since I was waiting for that n20G back to Flushing, I direct traffic to go around the station plaza.

A person is guilty of criminal impersonation in the second degree when

    he:

    3. (A) Pretends to be a public servant, or wears or displays without

authority any uniform, badge, insignia or facsimile thereof by which

such public servant is lawfully distinguished, or falsely expresses by

his words or actions that he is a public servant or is acting with

approval or authority of a public agency or department; and (B) so acts

with intent to induce another to submit to such pretended official

authority, to solicit funds or to otherwise cause another to act in

    reliance upon that pretense.

Saying this as someone whos been through the bs police and court system in Nassau (I thought the city was bad) you should probably just stop pretending you're someone you're not and get a job already.

  4. Who said any of what you just typed????? Nova still has to deliver 400 buses..... The first option was Given to New Flyer.... No one anywhere said New Flyer was better... Or that they would get "All" of anything other than the XN40 order..... So what exactly are you talking about bro??

Some group said Nova is getting the largest option order and they're gonna start in the 7800s and build up to 87xx.

It seems like the TA finds the NF to be a better product so far and is inclined to order more from them which is why I was surprised to hear that.

  5. At this time that is correct, however it has been said that a split between JFK and LGA is possible, and could be on the table.

I know the unions agreed to moving the Q53 to FR or whatever, but I don't know if they'd be with that kinda split. Both the 52 and 53 SBS out of JFK/FR makes more sense anyways.

  6. Where the hell is the real time tracking? Afaik every bus now has the new Clever Devices unless the Foothills still don't, really don't get why they haven't just turned on the customer tracking yet.

Today on N20, as the bus was pulling into bell blvd stop, a guy got up and ran to the front door, driver told him you can not exit here you must go to gleenwood street, passenger started to talk loud & said open door now in broken English, so driver had to open door anyway to let passengers on, driver warned him next time if anybody wants to exit on bell blvd, he will skip the stop.

What I usually see from I guess the more experienced guys who know the rules if they'll wait for the door to open and run out and not let the op see they're trying to get off before he stops. Sometimes they'll have their friends stop the bus for them just so they can get off. NICE has gotten much stricter with the closed door and I think people are starting to get it... 1 time the op wouldn't let someone out at Bell so he started pushing the back door so the interlock wouldn't let the bus move and then he just turned the back door on and let him out.

With the Clever Devices theres also passenger counters at each door and I'm pretty sure they can tell the dispatchers who's getting on and off where, so the drivers probably have no choice now but to be more strict.

  7. Fare hikes are inevitable because of everyday inflation.

Not the point. Its a BIG increase for people who already pay a lot especially if they live far from the city. I kinda feel where they're coming from.

At the same time they choose to live far from the city and should expect to pay a lot...

  8. Be happy for Lindenwood and Howard Beach... Howard Beach esp... That affluent area helps keep ridership up on the QM15.  Those folks are not using the subway... Similar to Staten Island express bus riders.  They see the bus as safe with mainly folks from their neighborhood.

Will you STFU about how they're "not using the subway" in those places? More people using the (A) than the express bus in Howard Beach I can tell you that for sure. More people on the QM15 seem to get off along Woodhaven in the places away from the trains.

Not everyone is a paranoid racist snob afraid of public transportation.
