  1. Based on the video, The seating arrangement is different on the A-end of the car. The center facing seats are now closest to the vestibule. Rather than the window. I like the propulsion. And the indentation on the back of the seats remind me of the seats on the XN40s and 60s....
  2. Certainly helpful in those last minute situations! i.e. if your coming from the D N R train to the LIRR at Atlantic. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  3. I've used it. It's pretty straightforward works well. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  4. Ohhhhh now I totally understand the whole business with key. I noticed it, didn't know what you guys were talking about. lol. Well, the B-end storm doors are powered. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah from September to December (Q4 2017) is when they will be tested on LIRR property. Which is what I reiterated above. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  6. That's when they are scheduled to be tested on LIRR property. There's a post in this thread has the schedule. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  7. https://youtu.be/8KKnoEG2Xf8 Seems like some of the cars are almost ready to go. In the video, you'll see that the seats are in place. (Not my video) Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  8. Perhaps not EXACTLY like the M8. The propulsion on the M7s is much more audible compared to the M8s and this. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  9. I saw that, #9003 has a silver door. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  10. https://youtu.be/riTKE5zHCSY Here's a video of the M9 cars running back and forth. Sounds like they have the same traction motors as the M8s. (not my video) Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  11. I saw an Instagram post on their page about the n88 with an XN60. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  12. https://youtu.be/pYBsMcPmkd0 Here's a video giving a good view of the side. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah. I've seen those videos.. it doesn't seem like it'll carry that scheme. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  14. MNR is certainly more equitable. They don't charge peak fares if you travel only to the Bronx. I was doing some research, A ride from Fordham to New Rochelle is only $3.00 and, to White Plains. All day, everyday. No peak fares here. But, LIRR is whole other story. If you're traveling to the city from Nassau County, you're better off with NICE and NYCT. And NICE is not nice. 15. You're correct, none of those reasons that I stated, do justify it. This an example law of supply, more people riding during peak hours means charging more. Moreover, let's look at the bigger picture, LIRR fares are ridiculous all around. $5.75 Off Peak and $8.00 Peak for a Zone 3-Zone 4 (I.E. Jamaica to Valley Stream) ticket is ridiculous. 16. The Ten-Trip tickets are transferable which means you can use them for multiple people in your party. According to an LIRR conductor I asked, It used to be that you couldn't use them for other people. Also, Compared to the O/W and R/T tickets, the 10-trip is valid for 6 months as opposed to 60 days. I guess that's why the MTA feels the fares are justified for the Peak ten trip ticket. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  17. I like the yellow better. It'd be nice if there was a blue stripe along the sides like the M8s. Instead of the one in the rendering. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  18. I find that on the LIRR they are cracking down on this recently, I've been on the train from Lynbrook to Freeport and to Long Beach they always stroll through and check. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk They give you an invoice in which you have to send a payment. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah the paper would wear off in short period of continued use. Especially, with the fareboxes on the buses they sort of peel the plastic MetroCard. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  20. I was looking on Google Street View I see the 187 PL stop it says n22 and n24 but, you proceed East, the stops only say n1 and n6. So, I guess that's the way it is. On that note, It seems they got rid of the Dalny Road stop going west. The clever device doesn't announce the stop and it disappeared from the transit app.. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  21. I remember the county voted not to raise parking tickets. That's what created this mess. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  22. Yes because light at Clinton/Stewart is a choke point during peak hours. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  23. Yes, I'll concur, they need to prioritize funding for the system. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
