  1. There was a soap box derby along 23rd Ave (my friend told me nd the MTA website confirmed it), so the 33, 48 & M60 had to be detoured on Astoria Blvd , and the Q19 has horrible headways BUT it is utilized (more than you would think), thats why it was crushloaded, I noticed when I go through that area (my school is in Astoria), I believe headways are 20 or 30 mins on weekends AND weekdays...
  2. Ohhhhh yea, sorry for the miscommunication, I was confused lol.. Happens a lot to me..
  3. Sorry If I sounded mean or rude, I didn't mean too...
  4. These are some crazy ideas....Lmao... The only one that makes sense is the Q26 to QCC
  5. I just got home nd I took the 77 from Jamaica because I wasn't in a rush to head home... I realized more and more why I should stick to taking the Q85... The bus was late, slow (especially along Hillside), crowded, the RTS I was on was rattling the whole way and I got a headache, it took 50 minutes to get to the last stop (takes half that time on the 85) and there was a bug crawling on this lady's pants.... Mind you, I live at the end of the route in Springfield Gardens nd got on at 165th Terminal
  6. You guys are lucky you have trips on that day ! -.- Im going to be stuck in my school for 2 hours taking the global regents -__-
  7. I never really saw the point of having the Q1 go to QV LIRR as ppl along Hillsde could take the Q36 there and the Q36 has a LTD so it would be quicker. All Q1 trips should go along Braddock, imo.... I agree. It would create a long unreliable route which is unnecessary tbh... Us folks in SE Queens have it bad enough with bus service... no need for more of it...
  8. Now that you put it that way, the 26 would be faster then, as Francis Lewis is a clear shot except between Hillside nd Jamaica, where NB traffic is kind of bad... Although I think that the 26 going all the way to Springfield Gardens is a bad idea... nd ohhh lol thanks, i see his point about trying to make it faster, but it seems that he doesn't know the problems with the route in general *shrug*.. I didnt think that closed door service was possible lol
  9. Only two days left as a high school sophomore.. Time flies way too fast :/

  10. I didn't know that the Q27 was slow.. I would drive down Springfield w. my mom nd they didn't seem slow to me... and is it possible for the 85 to be closed door on merrick? It needs more service , its not necessarily a slow route, its just the bunching and inconsistency so idk if closed door would help in any way...
  11. Do you know how long the Q26 would take if it went from Flushing to Springfield Gardens? WAY longer than the Q27, as it goes farther south. It doesn't make sense to have such a long route being created nd wasting mileage because one route may not be as important... And the point of having the Q26 and the Q76 both run on francis lewis is? The Q76 doesn't get a very high am't of riders nd having the 26 run on francis lewis , may lower ridership on the 76.... I just don't see artics happening on the Q5, leave the 85 as it is on merrick... Closed door wont solve the bunching and late/early buses issue.. Btw I was waiting for the 85 at JAM about an hour ago, nd waited 15 mins until 3 LTD buses came (2 RTSs nd 1 Orion) meanwhile every other bus was just flying by....
  12. Doing two of my favorite things... Talking about trains/buses nd shopping :D

  13. The 77 can't run school season only... its actually does get riders, just not as much as other routes. Its really utilized on saturdays... And the idea of the 26 running all the way down francis lewis has been beaten to death already... Its not logical, and there is no demand for it, and the north and south part of F Lewis serve different types of riders w/ different destinations... The 85 could use more trips I agree with that, but not closed door on Merrick. Ive seen ppl board on merrick nd go to rochdale, green acres (if it comes before the 5) or other intermediate points along the route and quite a few ppl take 85 LTDs to the 3 LTD stops on merrick (109, linden nd baisley) as well... That will just make ppl crowd onto already overcrowded Q5s.....
  14. Im sorry i read it wrong.. And although that would give the Q77 a slight more purpose, the Q77 doesn't run much and there isn't much demand for a service to JFK from Springfield Gardens, but I do like the idea of giving the Q77 more purpose, and it is better than extending it to 147 av.
  15. Don't even talk about the Q3... That line is horrible as well... slow as hell....
  16. This is true. I live on S Conduit and I would take the Q5 if i can because it has a lot of service and is frequent, but Merrick is WAY too far. The 85 would have better service if it didn't bunch so damn much tbh... and I've only taken the 111 once but its faster. The 111 takes 25 mins and the 85 takes 35-40 mins (going home). I also noticed that 85s are faster in the AM rush than the PM rush...
  17. Lmaooo... i wouldn't be surprised, it (the 77) goes by about 5 different school buildings which is a lot... And the 85 really is, I don't blame ppl from Rochdale taking it tho (I also see the reason for the buses that short turn at Farmers/Bedell).. their only other option is the 111/113, which are really overcrowded and not the safest routes... Personally the 85 could do better, frequencies I mean, because ppl who don't ride the route think the line doesn't need any more service, but as a frequent 85 rider, service could be increased... It really sucks waiting at Jamaica Center with every other type of bus flying by, still waiting for the 85, then have 4 come at once (In a typical p.m. rush hour, a Green Acres 85, Rochdale 85 and two 85 rosedale limiteds will come at once...). It bunches WAY to much also, this morning I was waiting to cross S. Conduit nd 225th and not one but THREE buses came, nd the lights on S Conduit are long, so I missed all three, which made me mad, most 85s also are late or early, but not on time, only weekends... but other than that its a good route that serves its purpose well..
  18. I think the Q77 could be considered the MTAs version of a school bus lol....On the weekdays I never see anything BUT schoolkids because as mentioned, folks would rather take other faster, more direct buses (85, 4, 83...) I may try taking the 77 to school on monday, because I'm getting tired of the 85 and everybody and their mom getting on in Rochdale...
  19. I live 4 blocks from the Q77, but I, as well as many Springfield Gardens residents, prefer the Q85 as it is quicker and more direct. The Q77 I only use on saturdays when I'm not in a rush and I need to go to my grandpa's house on Hillside and Tbh its better on saturdays, but its more crowded, as many use it on saturdays. Saturday service imo, should end at 9pm, instead of 6:30pm...
  20. Im not a star trek fan, but these are cool! I love the names too lol BTW I can't stand this heat -__- and its only May and its already close to 90 degrees.... I wouldnt be surprised if we got a lot of 100 degree days this summer
  21. I really hate having a cast -.- 16 days till it comes off :)

  22. It is because although they have different terminuses, although they run down Guy R Brewer together and also probly because there are more 113 exp's than 113 locals, which does make sense in a way to think that. I always did see the 111 as a local version to the 113 until I moved to Springfield Gardens myself. The 111 could be seen as an alternative for Springfield Gardens & Rosedale residents to the 85 because the 85 serves a more northern part of the neighborhoods while the 111 serves a southern part. I live in between the two buses but I prefer the 85 because its safer and not as crowded but it is less frequent.
  23. On Merrick, yes, I see them everyday when I'm on the Q85.
  24. That was really nice what you did for that guy. Although I am young, I like to help. I have given away money to those who look like they need it. Problem is, and I've heard and seen this too. There are ppl who pretend like they need help or money, to get money for others. Sad but true and it ruins it for those who genuinely need help. I do admit, I feel better giving my money to charity or organization because I know that my money is definetly helping someone.
