  1. Amtrak is running as well. Looks like only tracks 4 and 2 are in use.
  2. Hudson Line is going to open on Tuesday with limited service, according to MTA website. Diesel test trains have been running on different tracks to check out the system. A CSX freight came through which means that at least one track is open from Poughkeepsie.
  3. This was a 3 hour delay for brother travelling to Croton Falls. Then he drove home to Danbury. Probably saw sunrise.
  4. There are errors in some of the schedules. Look at the E schedule. https://new.mta.info/coronavirus/overnight/last-E-train Going towards WTC, the train arrives Canal Street at 12:50 AM, 50th Street at 12:55, 42nd Street 12:57, etc. down the line. Does the train back up after arriving at Canal? I noticed similar errors in the D schedule.
  5. It should be listed on the schedules, but it isn't.
  6. That's why I looked at the schedule to see the last train. What does "closed between 1 and 5AM" mean? Arrive at last stop before 1 AM? Leave all stations at 1 AM or something else?
  7. Then the schedule shouldn't show the trains OR include a note for police and transit workers. I don't see a note that service is unavailable between 1 and 5 AM.
  8. I looked at Sept 13 subway schedules and they show 24 hour service so I'm confused. Unfortunately, I can't cut and paste the link. Go to mta.info Subway Schedules Scroll to the bottom of the page where the subway schedules and click on the URL. 9. Block operators are subject to Rule G and hours of service limitations just like train and engine crews and train dispatchers.
  10. PSCC is like NYCT and Metro North RCC. PSCC controls the railroad between A Interlocking on the west side of the station all the way east to Harold.
  11. Could it be they are taught more than S&D? Engineers have to learn cab signals. I don't know why block operators would have to know anything about cab signals.
  12. You have to know all signals and definitions like Engineers and Conductors. They have BO's in Jay , Valley ,Penn (PSCC),Atlantic Terminal, I think Harold also and probably a few others if I'm missing some. There use to be more towers all over the RR at one time.It can be stressful , from what I've been told by a few BO's I know. But some people live for that stuff and also some people like to work in a office type setting staring computers. Depends on you , but it's a good job and also a great way to have your foot in the door. Like I said before , this craft usually leads to higher crafts in the Transportation dept. There are also towers at Divide (DV) at Hicksville, Nassau at Mineola, Queens, Babylon, and Lead at Long Beach. Harold is controlled by PSCC.
  13. Does anybody have the list of interlines for the schedules that went into effect April 9?
  14. Does anybody have a list of the new interlines since the deletion of routes in January?
  15. JB schedules posted on NICE http://www.nicebus.com/Maps-Schedules/Jones-Beach-Summer-Service.aspx
  16. I must be missing something. I don't see any interlining between the routes. Block 895817 spends the whole day on N88. Blocks 895819 and 895820 spend the whole day on N87.
  17. So who is responsible for maintaining the spur?
  18. Let's suppose a train holds 1,000 (including standees.) Their plan was to move 21,000. (Yes, more showed up than expected.) That's roughly 21 trains. Running time between Belmont and Jamaica is 16 minutes. I think they should have operated trains as a shuttle between Belmont and Jamaica and run deadhead back to Belmont. Also, there should have been free transfers to the and at Jamaica.
  19. Notice that he said "We will deliver you to the doorstep." He didn't say anything about getting you home.
  20. I thought the work was in the tunnel based on the website.
  21. During the week, the operates between Whitehall and Continental Avenue. On weekends, it operates the entire route via the bridge. Spring is here to stay (until Summer arrives.) Tourists will flood the city. On weekends, the subway transportation to Battery Park (Staten Island ferry, Statue of Liberty ferry) is on the , and . Should some trains be routed to Whitehall on weekends to take some of the load off the other lines? The doesn't have to the whole day but maybe 9 AM to 9 PM.
  22. http://www.nicebus.com/Passenger_Information/June_23rd_Schedule_Changes/index.html Not as many changes as in March.
  23. It would be wonderful if schedules were placed in the racks. I was there Sunday 4/7 and most of the racks were empty because there wasn't a dispatcher. In other news, I saw a N23 interline with N49.
  24. A lot of the information is probably obsolete with the schedules that went into effect December 30, 2012.
