MTA makes mistakes all the time! Check out the current bronx bus map notes and look at Bx27 night frequency

Guess what! I found a factory error on Bronx BUS MaP April 2012. It says the bX 27 operates every 4 minutes during sunday late nights. Think this is the current map so check out the mta website.

Seriously? At 1 AM replying?

Oh wait. Do you not live on SI? Whoops. Now also available on the B61,B63,M34,M34a +select+. next is bronx

Thats's why MTA created bustime on SI. This way, if 2 buses are close(3blocks) and 1st one is packed, u can wate 4 the next 1.

On sunday at 3pm the S74 took me nonstop from Target™ until ND lane. It arrived 7minutes early. I wonder how it is at nite. Also, the bus is overairconditioned. Specially if you came all wet from massive rain. Its been raining very heavily lately.

Here's my new plan for improvements:
S79 +select+ (mta's original plan)
S93 all day: 10 15 10 30 Wkend: 30 15 15 30
S6 +select+ : 12 15 10 30 Wkend 45 20 15 30
Via bay, victory, richmond av, ring rd, platium, marsh, S79 loop.
S51 +select+ (Ferry frequency) via bay, school rd, SIE, S79 route.
S89 eliminated, S59 extended/rerouted onto 34 st.
S48/S46/S44 limited : 15 15 15 15 wkend: - 30 30 - -
S48 limited modified. After rich av, maple pkwy, south av, then all LCL stops.
S44 limited: post/jwelet, morning/innis, forest, lamberts/cristopher, victory blvd, then all lcl.
S52: 10 15 10 25 Wkend: 30 20 20 30

The S89 has gotten busy since It's first day of service.
As for ideas... many were said in the old Staten Island bus idea thread, but I'll still list something I got:
S79
I personally don't think it needs SBS. It should just run limited only during rush hours. The S59 and S78 would be local supplements.
The S79 Limited stops would be:
- 86 St/ 4 Av Station
- 86 St/ 5 Av
- 92 St/ Fort Hamilton Pkwy
- Narrows Rd/ Fingerboard Rd
- Narrows Rd/ Hylan Blvd
- Hylan Blvd/ Clove Rd
- Hylan Blvd/ Seaview Av
- Hylan Blvd/ Midland Av
- Hylan Blvd/ New Dorp Lane
- Hylan Blvd/ Tysens Lane
- Hylan Blvd/ Nelson Av
- Richmond Av/ Hylan Blvd
- Richmond Av/ Eltingville SIR station
- Eltingville Transit Center
Then all stops to the Staten Island Mall
My only other idea is for the S93
I would have it expanded to a full weekday route. It starts and ends the same hours. Midday headways would 30 minutes.
The route would also stay the same. I felt a few members asked for a little too much with all those S93 extensions and S83 this and that.
If the S93 ran all day, it would kill two birds with one stone:
- Take some crowding off the S53 and S62
- Also give SI it's first Limited route to run during midday hours
