  1. A meme I made of one of the MTA's post-Sandy Flickr pics...
  2. Did anyone see the story in the news about the killer nanny on the Upper West Side? Scary sh*t.
  3. Don't know if anyone's posted this already, but this is really cool:
  4. How come the subway map shows some rush-hour supplements ( to Rockaway Park, to Nereid Avenue) but not others ( to New Lots, to Jamaica-179th)? The only thing I've noticed regarding these is that the ones they don't show are a matter of terminal space, and the ones they do show are typically to provide extra service regardless.
  5. The Chicago 'L' Purple Line Express run is another 4-tracked line, but you're right, we've assumed express tracks too easily.
  6. What I don't get is, if the whole line is down, why they said "please expect delays in train service at this time." Isn't there NO train service at this time?
  7. Hey, does anyone know why uptown trains were running local from 42nd to 59th today (at around noon)? Thanks
  8. Exactly. In my opinion, R46's are even some of the better cars of the current MTA fleet. I'm sure 30 years in the future, there will be complaints about R160s. But the MTA can't operate rolling stock based on who will complain.
  9. It was borrowed from the fleet. http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/36446-f-to-lefferts-blvd-go/
  10. I can see that happening, after all, they paid $4 million for a 20 year lease on the naming rights to Atlantic Avenue.
  11. Speaking of extra trains, does anyone think they might send extra trains on game days when Barclays Center opens?
  12. Agreed. If I had to pick one of the stops to close down, it'd be a much less used station like Franklin or Canal.
  13. Another question: how come the doesn't shorten platforms on the already to at least 6- car length? I see so many out-of-towers running when the trains zooms right by them or stops short. Is it because of the occasional F reroute, or does the think that Williamsburg, Greenpoint, etc.'s population will one day call for a lengthening?
