  1. I am sorry to hear that. If I was you, I will demand something in writing explaining; why??? They have to give you a reason. Upon, stating their reason or reasons; I will take it from there. Good luck to you. Try & work on this ASAP. Ask to speak to a supervisor & write down the dates, names, & times you spoke to so & so. Good luck..

  2. Wow thanks guys. Excellent to hear I don't have to live in the City. Currently in PA but hoping to move to Jersey if all goes well.

I will post if I get a call back and find out more about being reinstated. Really sucks that the Timing was off for me, but I really hope to be reinstated.

Send DCAS on a sheet of paper your

    -Name

    -Social Security #

    -Job title & exam #

    -List #

-And reason why you couldn't make appointment & that you will like to be reinstated.

You can either fax it or bring it over in person to make sure that they actually received it. Being that you are in PA, try & fax it over first. Here is their fax # 1-212-669-2453. Good luck!!!

  3. Good news to those waiting to be reinstated or called for that matter. This list has been extended another yr. It will terminate on Sept 19, 2017 now.

I have a question about reinstatement as well. I went in for drug test back in January and finally got called for final processing in the beginning of April. It was really bad timing so I turned it down and I emailed Mrs Vargas and she said I needed to ask in writing to be reinstated. My question is, how long does that take and is it likely they will accept me back onto the list? Hopefully it won't take too long, I know the list is expiring soon. Thanks.

List extended another yr. Don't worry. You have until Sept 19, 2017.

Hey guys quick question about shifts? How many years does it take to get a steady shift? Do they give you a number of minimum hours in between shifts? And is it the same for conductors too?

All employees that start off in Transit have no seniority "time vested". Like with Transit & other agencies you are like a floater in the beginning. With Transit you will be @ the mercy of the Crew Office. Who knows for how? With more people getting promoted & retiring you will have your turn when you get to pick.
  4. The higher you score the lower your list # will be & the faster you will get called. If you were in the military 2 yrs or longer with a honorable discharge. You will get vets credit 5% extra added on your score. Make sure you have your military papers & let them when you apply. Good luck!!!

  5. Medical hold for me & others as well. With the EKG your heart beats can't go over 100 per min. Mines went 108. 8 over.... A joke. Blood pressure & hearing a piece of cake. BE CAREFUL with the vision exam if your are near sighted. The vision exam can be a nuisance.
