  1. So a new date has been given for the temporary closure of the Downtown 50th St Train platform. It will start March 25th and run until Mid-April. This service change was originally going to run simultaneously with the 79th St downtown platform closure. Also, starting March 4th and running until Late March, Uptown Trains will skip 50th & 79th Streets.
  2. It makes no sense here either as both those buses have NOT been retired or scrapped. They were only OOS and not off the internal roster.
  3. I'm pretty sure they're short on buses in general. They've been borrowing both MCI and Prevost units from LaGuardia as of late. It's no different than what's been happening with CP taking Xcelsiors and Orions from LaGuardia on loan.
  4. Looks like renovating the whole depot if the map legend is anything to go by. From the map, it looks like the wants to have electric buses at Gleason, Ulmer Park, Jamaica, ENY, Grand, KB, Gun Hill, Eastchester, QV and Hale. Personally, this map is just PR talk to me so it can make congestion pricing more acceptable to politicians and the general public. I don't really have a strong opinion on it as I haven't kept up with it as much as I should.
  5. A-1 are the 4-car sets and A-2 are the 5-car sets.
  6. Most of the push to have service brought back to QBL (only speaking for this year) stems from the planned summer suspensions that the wants to do, but politicians are pushing against unless the extends service once construction is complete.
  7. Pretty sure they're still at their respective depots. Both ran only a day or two ago.
  8. Just a note, don’t always rely on fareboxes to note if a bus was retired. Those are rotated out constantly between buses within a depot. Do not take this as me disputing the info. Its just a general warning as users in the past relied too much on fareboxes to determine the status of a bus.
  9. Can’t we all just wait until the buses are present at the depot. Good grief, this thread is getting messy with the constant reporting of buses at the vendor, leading to some confusion.
  10. And with how low the trust is with the police, having them in almost every single bus can go south fast. Cases like a passenger getting aggressive or a cop shooting as a first resort leading to backlash and protests will halt this idea fast.
  11. People seem to forget the murder of the Flatbush driver in Dec 2008 (15 years ago) for not giving the farebeater murderer a transfer. I’m pretty sure nowadays it’s discouraged to engage with farebeaters so things don’t escalate. It’s odd how people say things weren’t bad back then when there are cases where you can point out the opposite.
  12. A minor thing, you put 5849 in the repaint list by mistake.
  13. The repaint of 5338 was partial. Only the front of the unit got a repaint, with the body retaining the original paint. 5843 was already on the list. Also, 5295 never got a repaint. It only got new labeled numbers on top of the front windows. The list you provided is missing 5902 and 5933 for the non-repaints. I think you meant 5849 when you put 5848.
  14. A few notes for the list: 5440 is still in the SBS scheme despite it being at KB for over a year. NF C40LF units 301-309, 312-313, 315-318 never got repaints. Nova LFSA units 5784, 5798-5799, 5826, 5834-5835, 5838, 5847, 5860, 5910, 5912-5913, 5916, 5963, 5978, 5982 are missing from the repaint list. Also, Nova LFSA 5902 never got a repaint.
  15. Trains were suspended between 125th & Hunts Point at the time (Weeknight Planned G.O. that started at 9:30 PM).
  16. A lot of the routes, including the B1, still used artics today with little to no issues. Even during the snowfall on Tuesday, a lot of the artic buses ran fine with a few isolated incidents that can also happen to standard-sized units.
  17. It was weird to see that some routes didn't use artics today while other routes did (due to the snowfall in the morning), though the plus side is that some of those units got a needed break.
  18. In this case, the decals don't mean s***. Some buses get them randomly and its been happening for over a decade. Also, only 3-4 Novas have Far Rock decals so I wouldn't use that as an indicator that Far Rock is getting a dedicated fleet.
  19. Unlike Eastchester, JFK has Xcelsior artics on their fleet so they wouldn't need extensive training for the 40-footers like Eastchester needed. They can do with borrowing a unit or using the first delivered unit for training like they did with 9029. Baisley borrwed 8960 when they were prepping for the arrival of the Novas.
  20. The QM21 has two drop-off stops along Queens Blvd (83rd Ave, Main St).
