Your time served with NYCERs will stay. Your picking seniority is gone. It will be like you're a brand new employee when you transfer to Queens.
Most people who transfer to TA Queens either lives in Queens or nearby, or they find working in the boro easier than working in Brooklyn, etc. When you transfer to Queens, it is a one way deal. You will go to whatever depot is available and then transfer into your Queens depot of choice. Once you get there, that is your work location for the rest of your driving career. Queens does not do system picks.
Queens also does a lot of things differently when it comes to depot operations. For example, their VR and XL is combined and you will be able to specify what work you want every day (or every week), in seniority order. Queens also allows you to use your PLD to bump anyone in the red book, regardless of where they are in quota. If they are last in quota, they are subject to bumping. Also being that all three depots have a smaller amount of operators, the quota can be different from what you're used to. (Outside of the fact that the union pretty much does the book) There are other things, I'm sure a Queens operator can chime in for you.
All three depots can have fuel lines after the PM rush hour. That can go either way depending on how you look at it. That's all I can think about right now.
Thanks for the information I really appreciate it
