  1. Our midterm and 1st yard practical are this Thursday and Friday respectively. Our signals test is in two weeks. Yeah that was our group over at 240 today.
  2. Considering that we've been scheduled to hit the yard sometime in June, I think they're giving the signals sooner to weed people out earlier than later. That's just my personal take on it though. Congrats dude, must be a great feeling.
  3. We've been in schoolcar for exactly 6 weeks now but with our class being the pilot class I'm hearing that we're getting our tests and practicals sooner than the previous classes. If that's the case then I actually prefer it that way. Get all my testing out the way upfront so that I can just focus on fine-tuning my operation.
  4. Yup flagging was on today's menu. Next week is the midterm and first yard practical.
  5. Schoolcar today pretty much tells us the same thing, get through your probation first before jumping on any OT.
  6. Our class took a 142A down the road today for the first time. In comparison to our other A-div toys, these are way easier to operate. In another 16 years or so all A-div rev service trains are to be new tech.
  7. Three weeks in I can tell that my class is very fortunate to have these two as instructors. I've heard stories about other instructors and all I can say is that I'm more than glad we have who we have. Tomorrow we'll be at CIYD so I'm sure Albanese will give us a peek at some of his babies.
  8. The printout is immediate. Make sure you bring a blank check along with you to pay the SS office for the printout.
  9. He hasn't mentioned anything about ballast but he did tell me I'd have to hump the 3rd rail if I didn't answer his question correctly lol. Needless to say, I didn't hump the 3rd rail.
  10. You ain't lying when you say Taylor is a legend and an artist. He can't enter a building or yard without people praising him and his drawing skills on those dry erase boards are something else. I couldn't be anymore thankful to have a TSS like him who covers everything from top to bottom. I'm sure there was some sarcasm in there somewhere but I don't think loads wouldn't be the right word for it, I'd say it's more like tons of fun.
  11. We have Taylor and Albanese. They're on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to methods of teaching but a wealth of knowledge to gain between the both of them.
  12. I'm currently in the 3/25 schoolcar class and I absolutely love it. This opportunity is definitely a blessing.
  13. There's really no chapters that you should be reading first while you wait for your class to start. Start from the beginning and read through the entire book as much as you possibly can. The more knowledge you can retain the better off you will be. The one chapter that is absolutely essential to your job though is of course the signals chapter. You literally want that chapter memorized from front to back. Good luck!
  14. Thanks man. I spoke with the liaison and she was able to clear up my situation. If I don't get called for the Jan class, I should be set for Feb. Good luck on your final processing, I hope all goes smooth.
  15. Does anyone have the number for 180 Livingston to speak with a live person?
