  1. @LIRR 154: What you are talking about is clairvoyance, genius, and I don't have that, just like everyone else. And I am pretty sure it doesn't take that to figure you are a faux humanitarian. Further companies don't provide humanitarian services compared to what they take. I didn't know what NJ Transit was like to work for, till I was working there, like I am now.
  2. It is kind of hard to find a new job when you are working 40 hours at one anyway, especially for me. I need time to decompress from work, to relax, to recharge, I am not like the other Transit workers fighting to get as much over-time as possible in exchange for 1.5x their hourly rate. 40 hours is already too much for me. Besides I want to move to some intentional community in Staten Island and I won't be able to do that while working at NJ Transit. Many people would love working at NJ Transit, the conditions, benefits and pay are better than many other jobs. However, I think the environment that co-workers and management create is worse than other jobs, at least in the mechanical department -- too many busybodies live to work, live to gossip and create trouble and play bs games. Ultimately I just don't think life is about acting like a human barnacle and sitting on a company job till I can retire. That is not life to me, I don't even want to meet people who are just satisfied with working 30 years or whatever at the same company.
  3. I can start to see why you got such a high post count...
  4. I really cannot stand working at any job in general for much more than a year, especially a transit related one. All I want is to be able to leave, but still be entitled to collect whatever unemployment benefits I am entitled to for the amount of time I have worked so far at NJ Transit so I can transition and move on in life. I contacted the employee assistance program(EAP), but they have no clue about this subject. I legitimately cannot handle the stress of working the same job continuously and I often break dish-ware, the sheetrock of walls, etc., because I feel like NJ Transit controls my life more than I do. I get panic attacks hours before my shift begins and often cannot enjoy my off days, because I know I will have to work again. I know I will never be happy as long as I work for NJ Transit, so I just have to move on and don't feel there is anything wrong with getting the benefits I am entitled to transition, but cannot figure a way to do it. All I know is quitting, which I feel like doing everyday will disqualify me from unemployment benefits. Does anyone see any type of solution? Thanks.
  5. Too surreal... So a lazy NJ Transit bus driver pays a homeless hobo to direct traffic for him so he can sleep. This is exposed by a major news organization and a NJ Transit spokesperson can only say that the homeless hobo is not working for them any longer and that they are investigating? What is there to investigate? Fire that bus driver, the reporters and that concerned citizen did all the investigation for them. Sadly though, it seems being in the unions is alot like being a made-man in the mafia...
  6. I just got recently hired into NJ Transit. They definitely called my previous employers. Your story doesn't look good. If you punched a supervisor, I would be thinking what would do you with lots of transit passengers/customers, most of whom will be normal, but quite a few will be very annoying. In addition being unemployed that long will not look good either. I think the truth will get your application binned. This is an interesting online discussion where lots of hiring managers tell about their hiring processes, what their companies are looking for, etc.: " rel="external nofollow">HR/Hiring Managers (larger firms) of reddit: What are the dirty secrets of online job applications? Unfortunately the gist seems that every company is different, and wants and expects different things, however they don't expect punching supervisors or being out of work for over five years.
  7. I am a recent hire and during patriot training I met up with most of the rest of my orientation class. One of them said something about that the fact that it is in our contract that if we clean 14 or more cars on a normal shift, we are supposed to be paid extra. I tried asking my co-workers about this recently, and they don't deny it, but it seems like they stonewall me. I have learned that there are no real friends in Transit, and that I should perhaps trust that fellow in my orientation class who is in the same position as me, than my more tenured co-workers. Unfortunately I was initially naive and didn't read my contract, instead using my idle time to read books. It will take a while to read my whole 200 page contract from the BRC TWU and New Jersey Transit and the possibility of doing that many cars could lapse before I get through it. Does anyone know about this clause? Or is there any way, or anyone I could contact to get a digital copy of my contract to run searches on? Thanks
  8. Again, does anyone know if the TB test is the only test and/or vaccine that is required for NJ Transit during the physical? @All the doubters: Here is a very authoritative source: CDC.gov: Vaccine Excipient & Media Summary Excipients Included in U.S. Vaccines, by Vaccine[PDF] They mention that vaccine excipients/ingredients include aluminum compounds, formaldehyde, thimerosal(mercury), monkey kidney cells, bovine, chicken "protein", other foreign animal content, etc.! Now please prove to me using any good source that those items which you should not even be eating or inhaling particles thereof, and mind you then you have more immune system and bodily process to mitigate the harm then, that it is somehow healthy to inject any of those substances intravenously into the blood where only meager white blood cells can try to combat them? Yet somehow all these compounds known to be harmful to humans when used by Pharmaceutical giants and put directly into the blood, are all healthy. Do a restricted web search using "site:.gov" and check those common vaccine ingredients and see what the government says about them in isolation and they are somehow magically different compounds that are highly toxic and poisonous to humans. Reality: he who has the money makes the rules, he doesn't have money suffers the rules. Now the mantoux test according to the cdc.gov PDF in my original post contains the ingredient phenol: This is the EPA.gov warning on that toxic ingredient. Another ingredient is Polysorbate 80 which according to this Pubmed.gov extract: Anaphylaxis: Anaphylaxis is a rapidly progressing, life-threatening allergic reaction. So how is the mantoux test that inserts these substances intradermally actually safe? Also about the imaginary tuberculosis outbreak nonsense: CDC.gov: Trends in Tuberculosis 2011 "10,528 TB cases were reported in the United States in 2011" "There were 529 deaths from TB in 2009" So why are millions of people every year, transit workers among them being tested for a disease that is largely eradicated in this country? Well it is something for lots of smaller players in the medical system to bill as a line item, and it is something for the bigger players to make billions from. The mainstream medical system is a racket, a monopoly cartel, if you don't know this, it is because you haven't checked. All the sources I used have been .gov! Sure the CDC says vaccines are safe, but it also lists many common vaccine ingredients. So do your own research and look them up and restrict to site:.gov. @Olegkha/realizm: On another venue where I cross-posted the same inquiry a Russian replied saying that Russians get false positives as well because of a tuberculosis vaccine they take/have taken. Far as I know in the USA there is no such vaccine. Maybe you received that in the past too.
  9. Does anyone have any knowledge if NJ Transit requires vaccinations or is just the tuberculosis test as I was informed? @Olegkha: I don't think ignorance is a good policy. If you ignore what you put into your body, you will still have to deal with the consequences eventually after years of abuse accumulate.
  10. Hi Olegkha, I looked at my medical transcript from high school as I did live in New York and receive the test twice. However back then I was kid too ignorant to know anything and now I am concerned about the contents of the "Purified Protein Derivative for Tuberculin" and where it was cultured from: a cadaver, animal tissue and if there are any additives like aluminum.
  11. Today I finally got a call back from NJ Transit for a physical for a job I have been chasing for over a year. I should be happy, but I am not. Instead I am terrified and anxious. I called their health department and found out I would have to take a Montaux test for Tuberculosis. I found this source that lists the ingredients in vaccines from a very official source: CDC.gov: Vaccine Excipient & Media Summary Excipients Included in U.S. Vaccines, by Vaccine[PDF] They mention that vaccines excipients/ingredients include aluminum compounds, formaldehyde, thimerosal(mercury), monkey kidney cells, bovine, chicken "protein", other foreign animal content, etc.! Now I am having trouble finding equivalent info for the Montaux test, because contrary to most people I don't want unknown substances in my body just because someone with a medical degree says to. The best I could find was this: But that is not very informative. From what/where is the tuberculin protein cultured from? Diseased rotting human tissue, animals, fetuses? Do they use additives such as thimerosal(mercury) like vaccines? I want the job, but I don't want unknown substances inside me as well. I have listened to podcasts of this vaccine attorney's radio show. A while ago on a podcast he said that basically there is no express right for an individual to control what goes into their body or not. The government does however grant religious freedom, which can be used to regulate what goes into your body, hopefully in terms of employment, but there are no gurantees. It all just seems so macabre and frightening from where I sit. I don't know what to do. I don't have much time either only 3 days. Is this montaux test as harmful as a vaccine? Can I avoid the test and still land the job? How do I find out Transit's vaccine policy, even? The workers who answer the phones seem to not know about any such policy, maybe because it doesn't exist.
