  1. Looking at the updated 24 schedule, I'm glad there's more service along E. Jersey Street... even if it's more during the weekend. Kinda surprised that they never added extra service during the weekdays because it can get very over crowded at times. I had to experience that myself last week trying to go to the mall.

Nos. 601, 603, 606 and 613 (daily): Trips departing Hamilton Marketplace will begin service at the bus stop on Marketplace Boulevard at Spirit of 76 Boulevard in front of Chase Bank/Chick Fil A. Trips ending at Hamilton Marketplace will continue to serve the bus stop on Marketplace Boulevard at Lowes. No. 819 (weekdays): Service levels will be adjusted to better match passenger needs.

Hopefully now that they changed the destination sign, the pax can stop bothering the drivers by asking the same question if the bus is going to Ivy Hill when it's clearly going to 20th street (even though the last stop for that one is actually on 18th street) ... I highly doubt it lmao. When the 1 line used to show "1 Newark 20th Street" as the destination sign people still asked and how it was before this current change didn't help at all. I guess to add onto the destination signs, I noticed that they shortened "Jersey City" to "Jrsy City" for some reason. Other routes uses "Nwk" now like on the 31 and 5 (with the 5 now showing "Nwk Penn Station" in all caps. I haven't noticed any other sign changes.

So, the new schedules are up and taking effect on January 15th and the more surprising thing I'm seeing is that they chose to re-route the 90 after Cordier Street so it starts at Chancellor Ave and 43rd street Also, the 13, 90, and 96 isn't going to be serving Valley Plaza Mall directly Well here is the link to it - https://d2g63oyneaimm8.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/bus_schedules/upcoming/20220106/T0090.pdf They did something like this before in 2005 or 2008 I think? That they decided to extend a certain amount of 1 trips past Ivy Hill to go all the way to end and begin at 43rd Street... that only lasted a few months for some reason.
  20. I'm kinda surprised that they are thinking about cutting the 96 service. But, I guess I can see why since during most of the day, I would usually see like 2 to 3 people on it but also during school season, the 96 can be packed with high school students (I should know since I've been catching that bus for over 18 years now haha). So there is need for that bus service of sorts. I'm even more surprise that they want to extend the 5 service out to the Kearny Walmart. While I'm happy that they are thinking of sending bus service out that way again, I really thought it would have come from the 30 or 40 line since those are closer. I'm probably missing a very obvious reason. Well if it does become a reality then it sure as hell beats having to catch the 40 to Harrison and Davis Ave and then walk 20 minutes the rest of the way and back. There used to be bus service going to that Walmart from the 43 line (I caught it a few times to go there) though, that service wasn't great with only 3 trips leaving out of Newark and 4 going towards Newark which is why that service was discontinued in September of 2012 due to low ridership.
  21. That video is crazy and to think not long after that happened, I was going to be going that way unaware of what happened to buy food. Now every time I get on the 90, I'm going to be paying more attention, especially at that intersection.
