  1. They probably don't have a class scheduled at the moment or there might have been one and it became full or was pushed back. Either way they are waiting for new classes to be scheduled and once that's a go then you will be called in to finish processing. Just give HR a call if you haven't already to see where they/ you are In the process
  2. it's when Someone has cleared the final processing stage and is officially given a Job offer and has accepted the position and has been sworn in.
  3. Thanks guys at least I'm not the only one. Your correct there are only a limited amount of individuals that actually use the forums or post
  4. Lol,I don't Know I'm sure there was an extremely large number of applicants maybe that's why they added an additional test day. However, A Sunday sounds pretty Suspect for a city exam it's a first for me anyhow and I've been taking city, state & fed test since I left H.S. what's making me question it is that everyone posting is scheduled for the 14th
  5. I haven't Seen anyone with a 12-15-13 test date post yet. Wondering if this is a set up LMAO. Mine is yellow & says Written as well. However, my letter does indicate the 1.5 hrs for the test Session
  6. Hopefully NO one is trying / going to attempt to memorize the books or booklets they've purchased or will get from these classes as they are only Examples to familiarize you in regards to how the questions are structured on the actual exam. The actual training is more intense than the exam. However I Know that doesn't apply to everyone some people are not at ease taking exams and sometimes score lower due to anxiety not from lack of Comprehension Good luck to Everyone taking 4600 on 12-14- 13 As well as on 12-15-13
  7. It will be a traditional map of the city with everything named: street's, waterways, park's, museums etc
  8. The questions are ALL multiple choice and you will be issued a map of Manhattan (which have landmarks and street's labeled) along with your bubble sheet at the exam. If you feel you want to become more familiar with the borough as well as where to locate landmarks on the map on your own just google the map itself or the nyc landmarks separately.
  9. Good luck to us all this go around. December will be here in the blink of an eye.
  10. Unfortunately, you probably wont get a solid answer to that question on this forum however, contact HR @ 180 & DCAS and you should be able to get a firm response from either or both. I know your concern all too well. Because, when I failed training I applied 3x after when filings were made available. {I'm even considering taking the upcoming one just in case training does not work out this time but I'm trying to keep all negative thoughts & engery out.} Anyhow..I was nervous about that 5 yr deal since my time wouldnt be up until june and they called me to begin processing for 1 in april and then within 2 weeks offered me another operator position from a separate list. Fortunately the time it took between the BOSS & my drug test june is a memory and now I no longer have that issue. The same may or may not happen to you but I would take the exam just to give myself a shot.
  11. Not exactly..... Once your sworn in you are actually appointed/hired as a Bus Operator TRAINEE it even says So on your Pay stubs. You can't be added to or removed from payroll or resign from a position you were nerver hired for so technically you are a hired MTA employee. However you are not considered a full fledged Bus Operator until you complete the entire training process, provided a badge and have earned enough trust to be cut loose on your own to service passengers without a sup ride-along you then move on to being the newbie/ rookie for a while.
  12. From the sound of things they are planning to. It just seems like as soon as they got a little closer to my number thing's aren't moving as fast that is probably due to fact that alost everyone is qualify During medical and filling the classes quickly which is a good thing for them but agonizing to those waiting behind them lol. Has your hubby been checking with HR on his status and the movement of the list?
  13. Yes M'aam I took my drug test on the 2nd. The same exam as you 8094 #39XX from the last two conversations I had with the liaison in regards to which list # they are up to for medical and I was told 3548 and that was early last week. She is out this week so I'm waiting for her to return on monday because her replacement seemed as though he was totally confused.
  14. I'm very close however, I'm Still waiting for medical ever here. Unfortunately, Mrs Chestnut is out until Monday & her fill in was either extremely overwhelmed in her absence or actually didn't know if he was coming or going.
  15. My most sincere congratulations to everyone who qualified this week. Best of luck to those of you beginning training on Monday stay focused and even though it will be challenging.....try your best to relax and execute. I hope to be joining you all on the road in the week's to come. Again Congrats!!!!
  16. I respect this post in it's ENTIRETY great words for this and any other position you get sworn into you have to hold your head high and own every minute of it. Definitely make each next move your best move.
  17. Since when did they start qualifications on day 9? I thought there were only day 7 & day 10 qualifications. This is brand new news to me.
  18. Your instructor does. Usually down 14th street towards cooper's square. some instructors may may have other routes.
  19. I agree it's all about that mirror placement and using that to gauge if your tail end is drifting further away or closer to the curb if you see either happening you gently counter steer to adjust. Since your backing slowly it is easier to correct. Hope that helps.
  20. The 21 page booklet/packet that you receive when your called to take your initial drug test.
  21. Your right it isn't as easy as it seems reality kicks in quick when your behind the wheel. Don't get discouraged keep your head up and best wishes on that day 7 qualification keep us posted. Thank to Manwell I wish you the best also.
