  1. For medical / background testing, does MTA make you disclose your medical records like NYPD? At any point in the hiring process, does MTA ask about past mental illness (depression, anxiety)? Thanks.
  2. Why would you fail the vision test? Is there a certain vision you need without corrective lenses? I can't see the top line of an eye chart without my corrective lenses, so I might as well not even take the test unless I get laser surgery.
  3. Does TA really need that many bus operators or are they just making money hand over fist on applications? Wasn't there a huge turnout for 2613, an exam whose list hasn't even been established yet? Won't someone who scored a 70 on Exam 2613 get hired before someone who scored 100 on Exam 4600?
  4. Hi DEE77, Same note was just posted on MTA.info for Exam 4600. Thanks again. APPLICATION PROBLEMS: We are aware of the issues that some customers are experiencing when applying for this exam online. If you were unable to pay the exam fee online, you will be sent an email by September 22, 2013 to the email address you provided with your profile information. At that time, you will be given instructions on how to submit payment and complete your application to participate in this exam.
  5. Thank you very much for the helpful answers.
  6. Hi, Has anyone had this problem? I applied online for Bus Operator Exam 4600. I had my credit card ready, as instructed, before I started the application. The problem is I only have an American Express card which was not one of the accepted payment choices. I had to close out the application without paying the $61 fee. The next day I borrowed an acceptable credit card. However, when I log in to access my application my payment status is blank, but it gives me no option to pay. I also cannot reapply because the system shows there is already an application pending for my social security number. I was making phone calls for an hour yesterday until I finally reached the correct department. The woman who answered just kept saying "Don't worry, don't worry" and that I'd get a chance to pay with no mention of when or how (She was hard to understand as she spoke broken English). I am trying to give these people money and they don't seem to want it. Thanks.
  7. Is there really that much demand for bus operators that MTA is having another exam so soon after 2613 or do you think they are just doing it for the revenue? I also have an unasnwered question in another thread if someone is willing to help: I'm happy that things are moving so quickly for you guys who took exam 2613. I applied for the exam and then did not show up on the day of the test, which I now sorely regret. The reason I did not show up is I received a psych DQ from the NYPD because I take anti-anxiety medication. I did not want to go through the whole test taking and hiring process again just to be rejected. On my drive to the test, I was thinking with so many qualified applicants that they wouldn't take a chance with someone who has anxiety and has to do deal with patrons all day, so I turned around and went home. I know my condition doesn't affect my work performance, but I can understand an employer's apprehension of hiring someone with anxiety, when they could just as well hire a "normal" person. At any point in the hiring process, does MTA inquire about your mental health history and can you receive a psych DQ for taking medication? Thank you.
