Greetings everyone,
I haven't been active on this forum for quite some time now. With exception of a few posts I made two days ago, I haven't posted anything in almost four years. I had moved from New York to Atlanta, and recently I've been feeling nostalgic for my old home town. I'm glad to be back!

Thoughts?
I think a line connecting to LGA via the wouldn't be a bad idea.

It could have to do with the fact that the may have been considering to close down that stop back then.
What year was it from?

The art installation Masstransiscope by Bill Brand has delighted Brooklyn subway passengers since 1980. Go behind the scenes to see how it was recently restored for a new generation of riders to enjoy.

Where do you think it comes from? Where does everyone else in the city get their power...
A power plant. The thing with the a secret nuclear reactor in one of the abandoned subway stations like worth street is just a joke. Come on man why did you click that red down arrow for? I will click the green arrow on your reply just to show that i have compassion.

Just asking How much is the MTA's power bill? those trains need 600 volts to run so i am expecting there bill to be big.
Second question. Where does all that power come from?

How did the New york city subway looked like on October 27,1904 opening day?

Looks like safety is worth compromising. Something is being done to help the overcrowding the and trains it's called the Second Avenue subway, but there is no measures to help the overcrowding for the and yet. The MTA keeps say they cear about passenger safety. I am sure the MTA willing to improve the safe oparation of the subway.Considering how dilapidated the infrastructure as a whole if this "safety" argument wouldn't fly with the MTA.

A Manhattan bound derail in the Clark street tunnel. The uptown tube is closed. and trains service in Brooklyn is suspend indefenitly until the recharge of the derailed is removed from the tunnel.
As an alternitive to and from Manhattan take the from Clark street-14th street.

Safety is being compromised on the . Overcrowded trains on any subway line like the is a bad thing and if nothing is done about it. It can lead to a derailment because the tracks are stressed due to the extra weight being put on them. And the sad part is our elected officials don't cear about the safety on the ny subway they have not increased funding to the in a very long time. If our elected officials rely did cear about safety on the ny subway they would have increased funding to the by now.
Just tring to get everyone aware of this.

Instead of bringing back the . The should invent a <1> train.

The has so many trains that there is like a train every minute. The train needs more trains. The was just unnecessary. The are different to the and that's why there is still skip-stop-service on the to this day.

I looked up the ridership on the Lexington Avenue Line for 2012 and they are comparable to the ridership levels on the Broadway Line and the Washington Heights Line for 2012. You can look this up if you don't believe me. Yet there is no Select Bus Service on the West Side of Manhattan or a new subway line being built to relieve this congestion. It's not a good idea to keep denying this. Something has to be done. Regardless if it's either choice but it has to be done. This issue has to be solved somehow..........
It's going to take the 1,000 years to build a new subway line for the and an 8 express train. It's best to put a Select Bus Service to hopefully help the with all the crowding.

Face it. The didn't work. The easier option is just to have more trains, and probably a proposal to build a new subway line (this idea is far fetched and probably won't happen) that would help. Any other point is moot..........
I know this proposal will get a lot of heat. The getting it's own subway line sounds interesting... maybe just maybe this new subway line running side by side with the could solve the crowding problem... and the tunnel may have 4 tracks opening the possibility of true express.. an 8 train.... This "8 train" can be express and the can be local or the other way around........ The 8 and the won't go to the Bronx instead go to LGA airport. it may cross under 96 street or 116 street columbia university and go to LGA airport. I know this sounds far fetched i know this probably won't happen, but that's what said back in 1900 when the first subway was being built.
Instead of giving up they built it. October 27, 1904 the first subway opened. It will take a lot money and a lot of time but it can happen... Like they say "where there's a will there's a way"

Does any one have any signal number and the signal's location
i.e Signal 101W 96 street station (this signal is not located at 96 street station).
0 -
They're designing ones similar to the ones on the numbered lines that are more specific and actually tell riders which train is coming and not simply whether it's an express or local train.
The count down clocks don't say where the train is.

Around 25% from the Lexington ave line , , and if i'm not mistaken.Does anyone know how many customers will use the new stops on second avenue?

What made you a transit fan?

I became interested in transit and how subways and train systems worked at an early age. I'm more of an Avgeek, but the railfan is still in me.
